Ok,ok, there had to be a “bet” between fabrats and Matt’s recovery, a bet that Matt must of lost to be seen in that bathrobe for the commercial. That was so funny, glad you guys are friends 👍

I love watching Paul and Landon work on Landon's truck. Paul is passing those skills along to Landon and in the end he's going to have an awesome truck that he and his Dad built together. Those memories will be with him all his life and so will that truck if he keeps it and takes care of it.

Gotta admit, this one choked me up a bit. I come from a broken home, with a narcissistic personality disorder and alcoholic mom, and a dad who was physically present, but a covert narc himself. Even if he'd had the skills and tools to show us kids these kinds of things, there's precisely zero chance he would have actually done so. Had to teach myself all of that. I hope your kids realize just how fortunate they are.

@southstreetbarbecue78753 жыл бұрын
My father taught me how to be independent, which was more than enough. I taught myself how to do a lot of things, including working on cars. I learned a lot from him even if it wasn't specifically in one area.

@@joeblow8047 I have two boys who have forgotten more about mechanical work than I know, and one son who couldn't find the dipstick for the oil if he had to. But he runs a successful business doing things I know nothing about. None of them can boil water, even though their Dad is a barbecue guy. Different interests, different skillsets. My main goal is to show an interest in what THEY are doing, not worry if they can do what I do.

My dad and I never worked on cars, but haybalers, Tractors, corn choppers, and farm trucks yes. They usually were in the field where they broke down so when you lost a bolt, nut or washer you tried not to move too much until someone got a magnet out to find the lost item. We weren't the same skill level, although I remember tearing down an old GMC inline 6 head taking it to the machine shop for the pros to work on it then putting everything back on and getting it running. I miss those times with my Dad and brother working together.

Great job. Showing your son how to use parts off of other trucks and improvise is crucial. Man, growing up my friends and I lived at the junk yards getting parts. We could build the whole motor for $100 vs buying a single part for $100 at the hot rod shop. Repurpose, repaint, reuse, fire it up and smoke the tires!

Its like youtube magic. Your videos and matts drop at almost the same time. Its almost as if you guys know each other. I do wish you guys channels dropped videos on opposite days though. I have to watch crappy stuff on the days your videos dont release. Paul should hold a contest to win an apprenticeship in his shop. That would be worth more than a degree from Harvard.
