Yes, and he can fix almost anything. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty😂😂 the amazing thing is, his sons are getting into it as well😄😄 in several videos you see one or more of his sons fixing or making something. Even Michelle & their daughter get in on the videos. Definitely a family oriented man.

My dad owned a 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser and it was stolen and I’ve been trying to look for one for years and no luck. It’s the first vehicle I learn how to drive and learn out to operate stick shift. I have a lot of great memories and even dream about driving it. Before I retired in the military I almost bought one but the frame was split in half. I’m just smiling so much right now.

The blue FJ40 is a 1974 with the rare transition F engine (often called F.5 on forums), specific to this year. The white FJ40 is not from 1974, it is 1977-1979 with what is visible (new model spare tire carrier, old front bezel), it has a 2F engine (1975+).
@ericcameron4159
@ericcameron4159 2 жыл бұрын
And I would add that the hard top is also from the white FJ40. It was meant for the ambulance doors 1975 and up. If it has front disk brakes, it will be 1976 and up. Tube spare tire carrier and pop out side windows on the hard top point to 1977 or 1978. With the front bezel being round, I would guess the white FJ40 is a 1977 or 1978. I would keep this one over the older blue FJ40 if it is restorable.

My money is on '73 it was the first year of the two piece license plate light. In early fall of '73 (so a '74 model) they removed the wing window vent, this FJ40 has the wing vents. '71 the transmission was moved to floor VS the 3 on the tree like my '70. '73 models had the key moved from dash to the column, this column appears to have a shroud for the key. This all goes off the rails if they swapped in other parts.

LOL- that second one looks familiar (looks outside- even the same early front blinkers/indicators).... Bugga, you got the rear seats (they aren't legal in Australia and are very rare)- one fun thing is that when running open top, take a couple of bolts out, and the whole upper half of the doors (including the window frame/runners) comes off, lay the windscreen down, and you have nothing higher than the dash basically

The Marines at the gate waved me on to enter on the exit side. After I ran through the crowd pushing them out of the way I tried to stop to be sure no one was hurt but the Mariners were yelling “ Go go” so we went, went. I lived on the base in so old officers houses that had been turned over to married enlisted. Since I lived on base My Buddy usually left his FJ at my place when he was at sea. When he got back I told him the protesters were probably looking for him. He just laughed and told me that I just didn’t know how to drive the FJ or there wouldn’t have been any survivors. This was in early 1972 and the Vietnam War was trying to wind down but the demonstrators were still hanging around Military based making a Nuisance of themselves.
