This OST was so sad for Pudding. Just as Pudding finally met the man who accepted her (Sanji) for who she is, she also has no choice but to let Sanji escape. Pudding's cry at the end of their scene was full of regret and sadness. Her character development was on par with Charlotte Katakuri.

Sanji deserves Pudding and reverted too. Pudding really loves him because he is the first to tell her that her third eyed face is beautiful and because he is not even a single bit hateful towards her even after all that shes done to him. Sanji on the other hand has the first person to ever feel in love with him for what he is and guys it is sanji. Sanji never pulled the common sanji move he does to women. Honestly out of all the girls all there, it wasn't Robin or Nami, it wasn't the Crown Princess of Dressarosa, it wasn't any of the girls Sanji flirted with, it was Pudding. That cold heartless exterior of hers was just a facade to adapt to the harsh atmosphere she grew up in. Her heart was sweet just like her name. And Sanji is just the right gloves to warm her up.

Pudding. Hella underrated girl, and totally misunderstood. Just because she was "mean" to him doesn't do anything, that time we saw her true personality as if it was "taking" over her. Sanji. The person who accepted her for who she was, she never accepted herself at all, that's why its hard for her to like him and trust him. Her tragic past is the reason why her harsh true personality is like this, but the thing is that it was only a mission, but that mission had made her realize that Sanji, actually liked her and enjoyed being with her just like the part where she kissed him, she removed his memories because, she doesn't want him to know about her and what she has done to him. Her crying at the end shows her regret and sadness, but she was happy that Sanji was with her and accepted her when no one ever did, and the only person who truly loved Sanji was Pudding. All she wanted was someone to love her and accept her, and that was Sanji. I honestly hope they will meet again later in the future.

I don't think my heart has EVER repeatedly ached for two characters to be together, not just in anime, but ANY form of media--books, shows, movies. 😭. I have other ships in shows that I love, but can get over after a few days if something tragic happens...but it's been almost a year since I've watched the end of Whole Cake Island and EVERY single FREAKING time I hear this song, or rewatch the scene...I feel like I went through a breakup and just want to cry myself to sleep. And you'd think that when I have it on repeat, that I'd get used to the song or that the paint would lessen, but no... I just get sadder. I hold my breath before @2:43 and tears just come down my face at the climax, every time.This is a testament to Oda's immaculate writing. Better than Romeo and Juliet on ALL counts. 💗All signs seem to point to him writing Pudding and Sanji to be endgame based on how he's set them up to somehow meet later on, but in the event that his editors tell him not to make them end up together or something, can we all collectively agree to write his editors telling them they better make them get together otherwise we will be PISSED AF.😢

I met a girl this year and I was pretty sure she was the right one but for some reasons It didn't go well, anyway I passed beautiful moments with her, moments that I will never forget. And what happened between us reminds me a lot the story between Sanji and Pudding, maybe also for the fact Sanji is my favorite character and the most similar to myself. What a story.
