Hey man, wondering if you had any experience with the rev hang problem these cars have. I have to granny shift the piss out of mine for it to shift smoothly. I don’t want to replace a clutch anytime soon from jerking the rpm’s down.

When I first got the Altima I thought something was wrong with it because all my previous cars had cable driven throttle bodies and I had not experienced rev hang before. Unfortunately for emission reasons all modern electric throttle body cars rev hang (engineering explained has a great video on this) so to counteract this under normal driving circumstances I adapted to let off the throttle a bit early so right when I push in the clutch the revs are dropping, since I've had the car for over 5 years I have gotten pretty good at it and it is an unconscious action at this point. Under high RPM hard shifts I accept they already aren't good for the clutch and shift as you would normally. Other than going to a tuner that can flash stock ECUs and having them adjust the linearity of the throttle body to match the pedal exactly all the time you can really only adapt to driving it unfortunately.

@@HardAngle I have a local shop with a dyno in my area and I happened to know the owner. I’ve been looking everywhere for info on reflashing the factory computer but it seems as tho it tends to auto adjust itself back to its factory form. I’ve also learned to let off the throttle before shifting but I still can’t bang the gears around without a large jerk in rpm’s and no clutch slippage which is partly my engine mounts being bad. Have you tried reflashing the ecu at all? All info on forums is 11+ years old and outdated.
