I'm not building a Rally car, but just watching how you approach, and over come things inspires my autocross build.

I'm a machinist with a background in mechanical engineering , and I would like to make a suggestion about your bashbar. If it were mine ( and it will be soon as I'm looking for a WRI STI to use as a daily driver, and part time rally car ) I would move the front end of the large dia. tube attached to the frame stub , down to the lower large tube of the b. bar. Then I would add another large tube running from the top of the b. bar to the upper portion of the shock tower. Don't forget to plate it. The larger the plate area the better. This gives it triangulation front to rear . Next it needs another large tube running vertically between the top and bottom tubes of the b.bar at the point where the top and bottom b.bar tubes meet the frame tubes. At halfway point of vertical tube send a tube back at a 45° angle ( or at least 35° ) to the frame. This provides lateral triangulation. All this will give you a very strong b. bar and protect those expensive components mounted to it. I you break this one you've probably done in a corner of your front suspension, or both. I'd be willing to bet it's less than 5 lbs. additional .095. What is your name ? On most sites my username is Boogerblaster, but I'm Mike. I think we are going to be communicating a lot. You and the Mrs. have fun and stay safe while rallying.

referring back to the first video and you yanked the engine- some Subarus you're able to unbolt to the entire power-steering pump assembly and move it to the side without loosing any fluid at all. similar to keeping the a/c connected.

Thanks for another great video. You've helped with a few things on my build here in South Australia. Just made the first piece of my GC8 roll cage this morning and hope to have the main hoop done today. Keep it up mate!

I met Kris a few months back at a rally and I'll tell you the same thing he will: Start taking things apart and watch what you are doing. Take pictures so you know how it goes back together. KZbin, Google, and Facebook is your friend, cause lots of people have more experience. When I was 15, I bought an Impreza that basically had to come 80% apart to fix it. It will obviously take me a long time to put everything back together the first time around, but I'm 20 now I can pull my motor in about 1.5 hours. I've fully rebuilt my car a few times (Kris can attest to that) and each time I do it, I keep finding things to redo. That's just how it is. What car are you starting with?

Pretty much what Arthur said, I just started doing a bunch of stuff and figuring it out as I went. So much information on how to do stuff is readily available and definitely helps out.

I used swag offroad’s kit with a harbor freight air over hydraulic Ram. I did a video on it that should be out next week if you’re interested.

htp flex head is amazing. well worth the money. Also the tig button is a must have for any out of position tig work. no more foot pedal between the knees, amps are controlled by finger pressure on the torch. i.imgur.com/vtHBcPi.jpg I honestly prefer tig cages over mig cages now
@DirtyGarage
@DirtyGarage 4 жыл бұрын
For sure the flex is definitely worth it. I’ve been meaning to get a tig button for awhile now, it’s not much fun squeezing the foot pedal between your legs upside down in the car 🤣. Thanks for reminding me though, I need to order one.
