I wasn't sure about this when she first started suggesting the concept. BUT WOW!!!!! This will take our awesome 3-yard quilts to a whole different level. I love them. Then...she got to the Liberty block quilt. That is absolutely a quilt in a different dimension! This is an awesome idea and is a way to make truly unique quilts. Being one of those kids that did not color outside the lines, my brain would likely never have thought of combining elements from different patterns. I think Donna and Fran may have to take this concept and make some more quilt pattern books. Do the work for us ladies!! We can then reap the benefits. Interesting. Good tips on how to mix blocks from different patterns. I don't quite get the maths though. If the quilt comes to the same size and you are only using half of the blocks for each three lots of fabric, it either has to be bigger or you have half the fabric leftover so it would make two lap size quilts... Each pattern only uses three yards of fabric in total for the top which is kind of the point.
