What if Ten Hag doesn't want to work under the new structure with watered down influence? Ten Hag had in his agreement with Glazer's that he could veto any player signings, with INEOS this is no longer possible. Fans and INEOS might want Ten Hag to sign the new contract, but if Ten Hag doesn't want that then there's no debate as what to do. Ten Hag with 1 year left on his contract means either a new contract or he is let go by mutual consent.

The issue with retaining ETH is that I'm not convinced the tactical direction of 'direct aggression with high press' will succeed over Man City & Arsenal possession-style football over a full PL season. We saw Liverpool (being a better-coached team) falter so many times with these tactics over the years. For the first time since Ferguson left Ten Hag has giving me hope that United was building a special team again and you can also say that about at least 80% of the United fans (probably more after yesterdays win where Ten Hag once again proved he's a masterclass coach schooling the best coach in the world). So if INEOS decide to sack him I will be so devasted that I will stop supporting United after over 50 years as a fan because Ten Hag was my last hope of United being great again and winning the big trophies which he already does. I know it has been a bad season mostly because of all the injuries but Ten Hag with his team showed again - finally having Martinez and Varane back in defense - that they can beat everyone and that Ten Hag is up there we the best if he has his best players in every position on the field to carry out his tactics. Like Pep said before the match - he would also struggle if his best defenders were injured most of time. A team is only as good as its weakest links and at United the weakest players aren't top class at all. Sir Jim has said he admired Arsenal for not sacking Arteta after his first 2 seasons finishing 8th (Ten Hag was even 3th in his first season) so he would be a hypocrite and a liar if he ends up sacking Ten Hag. Also Sir Jim said he would listen to the fans and the fans as I said want to keep Ten Hag so that would be another lie. That's also why I will give up my last hope for United if INEOS make the wrong decision in this case because then they're just the same as the Glazers. The Glazers almost destroyed United on their own and never listened to the fans in important matters other than hiring Ten Hag which the same number of fans wanted and no wonder - he already won 2 trophies and 2 out 3 finals in 2 years.
