These are the types of quilts that sparked my own interest in quilting when I first saw pictures in a book many years ago. Just gorgeous, the makers really put their hearts into them.

Thank you for the wonderful Baltimores - I myself have sewn almost a Baltimore Album quilt - waiting to be finished. Now you gave the joy of diving into their history, appliques, embroidery, inking and a lot of other great sewing techniques. I am from Denmark.

Hi Pip, your quilt sounds wonderful too. I was in awe at the colours and 'stories' in these Baltimores. Stunning. So glad you enjoyed them. Please feel free to share it.

@@ArnoldsAttic Thanks for sharing - I should have been in Birmingham - but thanks to you I got an impression. Oh it has been lying around for some years - I just need to make it up and quilt it. I started because of all the interesting techniques and the beauty of cause. Elly Sienkiewicz has written several books about the original techniques. Very inspiring and I was obsessed. I will share on Instagram next year, are too busy now. #pellemor9
