Faccetta Nera (Italian: "Little Black Face") is a popular marching song of Fascist Italy about the Second Italo-Ethiopian War. It was written by Renato Micheli with music by Mario Ruccione in 1935. The lyrics describe how Italian soldiers will liberate a beautiful young Abysinnian (Ethiopian) girl from slavery and take her back to Rome, where she is promised a new and better life. The lyrics explain she will be under the authority of a new regime, and she will parade with the fascist Blackshirts.
The hymn is said to have been inspired by a beautiful young Abyssinian girl, who was found by the Italian troops at the beginning of the Italian invasion of Ethiopia.
During the invasion the song was hugely popular in Italy and caused national fervor. The implicitly erotic song was, however, somewhat of an embarrassment for the Fascist government, which had, starting in May 1936, introduced several laws prohibiting cohabitation and marriage between Italians and native people of the Italian colonial empire. These efforts culminated in the Italian Racial Laws of 1938. The Fascist authorities considered banning the song, and removed all picture postcards depicting Abyssinian women from Roman shop windows.

It's historically true that after the conquest of Ethiopia, fascists have abolished slavery in East Africa. Still racism was a thing and black people was "segregated" (although they was required to partecipate in the social life of the new country)(adults had new jobs to carry while minors was forced to go to schools and learn at least basic notions of languages, mathematics, jurisprudence, geography, chemistry, metalmechanics, artisan craft techniques, etc) in modern (for the time) brand new houses full comforts in the new cities the Italians built in that country. Of course our dominion over that land ended with the liberation brought by the British. So now Ethiopia, that still is proud of its independence, can show to the world how they failed two times in conquering Eritrea, and by doing that turning that country in what today is called the "North Korea of Africa" and keeping back rebels from taking power in their country. Of course Somalia is also... well, it's Somalia. Good job Allies! 👍

If war and conquest was about singing one's heart out, Italy would've won easy. Alas, it isn't and so the harsh reality. The Italian Army was defeated and utterly destroyed by any opponent, be it Abyssinian tribesmen armed with spears, Albanian and Greek mountain men armed with 100 year old vintage rifles and so on. My heart goes for those poor souls, who ended up in Russia. (the 9th Army of mountain infantry who tried to hold the line somewhere between Stalingrad and Voronezh on the western banks of the river Don. Their suffering was enormous due to cold, hunger, and million other things. Remember them, not just the lovely songs they left behind!

Abyssinians under Haile Selassie had everything from modern belgian uniforms and arms to traditional swords and spears. Total conscription was mandatory under death punishment, and they received important german aid, including 10000 Mauser rifles, military advisors, etc. PLUS they outnumbered italians by far and played local in a vast, hard country. All this in '35-'36, and Italy WON. Later in full WWII, the british with their infinite supplies of own and american vehicles, arms and supplies managed to kick out the italians. But at least italian prohibition on abyssinian slavery and mandatory prisoner castration lasted.

Albanian and greek mountain men armed with muzzleloaders?? Are you nuts or just ignorant? The balkans and Greece were full of soviet-supported organized partisans with new and free british weapons and explosives. And the last classic cavalry charge in history was made by italians against soviet troops in 1943, using sabers and hand grenades, and the charge was sucesful.
