You described my every day life perfectly. I experience EVERY SINGLE THING the same way as you. Thanks! I shared your video last year and I can't wait to share it again so all my new Facebook friends get to hear face blindness explained so well. It's annoying that people get offended because I just don't have the ability to recognize people and they think I do, even though I always explain it. The only way I get by is by making sure to notice clothing and earrings. It's such a relief when I finally recognize someone, but it takes lots of close interaction for that to happen!

Ever since I was in Psychology last year, I've been interested in face blindness. It's interesting to see a first-person account of it. I tried to write a story with someone who had it as the main character, but I probably got it all wrong!

Sorry if it's weird to comment on an old video, but I've been reading up on face blindness because I recently realized I have a mild form of it. It's difficult for me to recognize people I've only met a few times or don't know well, where as I can instantly recognize friends and family. I'm also really good at recognizing people by their body type/gait/silhouette too! I think this is one reason I love it when people wear unusual clothes (goth, lolita, etcetera!), because I can more easily recognize them. Plus it looks cool. :)

+Elyssa McElrath No I love comments regardless of how old the video is haha! I love when people stand out, they make my life so much easier :) At least we're lucky to have milder forms of face blindness, it must be horrible for people who can't even recognize their own kids...

Same here, its sad that it’s not known enough, my friends and husband just don’t understand me. I just started to search this on KZbin and I am kinda glad to find out that I’m not the only one. Thanks for the video

I experience the same. It's so good to find other people cause no one ever talks about it. One question, do you have trouble with directions? Cause I'm extremely bad with directions as well. Once I walked up and had a whole conversation with someone I thought was someone else. :o

I know right! That's why I made this video, I really want more people to know about this! I'm not great with directions, but I think that just comes down to me not paying attention enough, haha. I can't compare the two, cause with faces I have no idea and just feel completely blind, but with directions it's different. Haha I've done that too! It's horrible!

I really understand you :) I think I have the same thing, maybe not that bad, i don't know. Do you developed any tricks to make it easier to fix that?
@ToneBreistrand9 жыл бұрын
godoptimizer I don't really have any tips unfortunately! Just try and notice people's hair, clothes and other stuff like that :)
