This is one of those "film noire" flicks - the music, the atmosphere were just GREAT!!!!! Takes me back to a time that's hard to pinpoint cuz in its own way it's timeless. Loved it.

Great movie ! Very Noir-ish. I am totally crazy about the type shots they created, fish eye lens, the weird corners they took the shots from especially with the sailors at the bar. When Meredith walked down the stairs taking the subway as people passed her by going up and the footage was going double pace.. that was most unusual. The Jazz Noir.... It really had a cool story line, well written. As a non American i love these street wise expressions you hear in this genre movie. Good acting... I'll shut up now ! Thanx for sharing this gem, really enjoyed it ! This movie should've gotten a little more credits.

The PI offices sets are straight out of a 1940s, 1950s noir film, with the lounge jazz background scores. The furniture, filing cabinets, creaky chairs...but not the bulky CRT Windows 95 OS desktop systems...

When I first saw that the marvelous Joe Mantegna was in this movie, I was disappointed because most of the movies on this channel, although mildly entertaining, are of the somewhat cheesy movie-of-the-week type (Sorry, Jesus!). I was glad to see that this was a Showtime production, and the quality of this movie reflects that. It will be a pleasure to see Mantegna resume his role as David Rossi on CRIMINAL MINDS. With his now pure white hair, he gets more distinguished-looking every year.

That little girls death was not enough to dispise Signorelli so intensely. I think that Cop was the reason Signorelli falsified information. There has to be another reason. Merre hasn’t got the figure of anyone taking Lithium. She’s scary.

A creative story, another crazy week in New York City. I didn't enjoy the music for the film, it is schizophrenic itself and it doesn't add a thing to the movie. The first act was weak but it picks up after the killing of the owner Attorney or whatever part he plays in the movie.

Why was it necessary to blur out the sex scenes on the video in the movie at about 39 minutes and later on again? We're all adults here and in the untampered version they're indistinct anyway, so what's the point? Surely you can trust us to make these decisions for ourselves?
