I loved the no-sew t-shirt mask, but I was looking for something a little more permanent as this crisis continues...thank you so much for this easy sew method! I may even break out the sewing machine and try! The fact that you walk us through with voiced instructions is one reason you are a fave! Thank you so much for teaching how to make a mask without the difficulty of pleating.

I just made one of these, a perfect fit. I just had to adjust the length of the continuous tie from 37’ to 45’ just so that it fits comfortably over my afro 😁. Thanks so much 👍💯

Thank you Jan for this tutorial. Great, easy instructions, especially for those of us who don't know how to use a sewing machine. I can't tell you enough how much this is appreciated! Take care, and please stay safe & healthy!

Jan, thank you for such a calm, simple explaination on how to make a mask that anyone could sew. I think teachers could have their students make the in class (maybe 3rd grade and up. ) I am going to make several - they will be much softer and more comfortable than the ones I made from quilting cotton. Thank you again for taking the time to share. Now I am going to go back and check out your other non-mask related videos!!

thank you so much. it looks like we'll be wearing masks for quite some time...t-shirt fabric is welcome break from the quilting fabric, and this 'gathered' is a welcome break from pleats! your teaching style is very thorough/pleasing.

Just finished making this! My sewing machine was fighting with me, so I did it by hand. I'm a slow, un-skillful sewer, so it took me a little time (maybe an 45m altogether?). The mask fits great! I used a pipecleaner for the nose bendy thing, so it has a nice tight fight across the top of the face and down under the jaw. Thank you for the tutorial!

This is a very simple process to accomplish the goal - always a winner in my mind. I appreciate you sharing options to reach the same end product. Flexibility is always a plus, especially during these unprecedented times. My sewing machine (plus my hand tools and more), were stolen during a recent move. Hand sewing is necessary for now. Near the beginning of the current pandemic I had attempted to make masks to donate. My concept was not ideal - I totally over-thought everything. Thank you for sharing your simple yet very effective design via such a thorough tutorial. New subbie here.

Maskes are so easy to make. I used old t-shirts. Use the backs. It seems that part never gets dirty. Use any type of frabic.If you cannot sew use frabric glue..AWSOME ....

Thank you! I love the T-shirt masks best, and even though I do sew, I don’t have access to my machine right now. I modified your no-sew mask by using a few hand stitches to keep it together. Great video, great info!

I’ve tried several other tutorials and this one is the best. I used the T-shirt for the ties too. Since the bottom is open l think you could put a filter in. I used the stiff wire from resealable cookie bags or coffeehouse bags have a stiff tie on them. Thank you for your instructions and this pattern!!!😃

I have made 4 of these so far with various fabric, and overall I love this idea. I do have one issue with them all: regardless of how much I cinch the strings, the bottom chin part sags down. I end up having to fold it under each time I put it on, which is a little annoying. Otherwise, though, I really appreciate this tutorial. Thank you!!!

I make pretty much the same mask only I have the sewing machine. I think it’s an awesome style and for someone who has no money the T-shirt mask is absolutely the answer. It’s so comfortable all my friends love them. I use a fabric for interfacing it is an oly fun product. It’s cheap and it’s recommended in some videos I have seen. You can get a roll at Walmart for two dollars plus tax and it is a very hefty roll. You can make many masks from that one roll and also it comes in many colors which is actually unimportant. Your mask is awesome I love it. Thank you for sharing your time. There are Gougers out there selling that oly fun product for $30 plus shipping which I think it’s just horrible. I bought 13 rolls in assorted colors when facemasks were First necessary. Message me if you would like a roll or two and I would love to send them to you for what I paid two dollars plus tax. Thank you again.
@margietrujillo87714 жыл бұрын
what is an oly fun product?
@margaretharp66074 жыл бұрын
margie trujillo it is a Polypropylene product. I saw it advertised in some of the mask tutorials on KZbin. It’s a great product it washes and dries well and gets softer every time you wash it which makes it more comfortable. It’s nice because it adds body to the mask. I can’t begin to use all of it because I purchased 13 rolls thinking I was going to turn out hundreds of masks. Truth is I can’t sewed that quickly I am out of practice. There are a lot of people out there price gouging for this product which makes me crazy. I hate Gaugers!!! Look it up Walmart.com. It is 3 yards x 30“. I bought assorted colors as well there is maybe six colors. If you’d like to have some be more than happy to send it to you just for what I paid but you will need to pay shipping as I am on disability. I will sell nine rolls that will leave me with four. let me know if you would like some. It was two dollars plus tax

This looks great! Do I understand correctly that it's 4 layers in the end? It's the t-shirt tube that's then folded back on itself? Thanks!
@JanHowell4 жыл бұрын
yes, that is how you end up with four layers. :)
@brookecooley7514 жыл бұрын
@@JanHowell what would the measures be if you only wanted two layers? 8.25x 8.25?
@JanHowell4 жыл бұрын
@@brookecooley751 8.25 x 16.5 Fold the wide side in half an sew side seam. Instead of folding inn half again you’ll make your casings on each side. The only thing is you’ll have to hem the top and bottom of mask. If it’s T-shirt fabric. You won’t have to worry about that.

If you use fabric then it's half as thick as the tee shirt one right? Because the tee is front and back right?
@DwimbleVideos4 жыл бұрын
No, she only used one, square piece of t-shirt fabric. So, if you did it like her then it would have four layers regardless of the kind of fabric used. She folded the square in half, sewed the long side to make a tube, and then folded the tube in on itself, creating a square again, but with four layers.

Previous month I was able to pull my first five figure income ever!!! I've been working for this company over the web for 2 yrs now and I never been happier... They are paying me $95 per hour, and the most desirable thing about that is that I am not that tech-savvy, they only required basic knowledge of internet and general typing skill...Superb thing about this gig is the more time I got for my kids. I am able to dedicate quality time with my relatives and buddies and take care of my children and also going on holiday vacation together with them very consistently. Don't let pass this chance and try to act quickly. Check it out, what it is about... *worth48.com*
