So many of us are making masks for children we are quarantined from, and so can’t measure. I really like this one, it is simple, but I have no idea if it will fit a 5 yr. old who I want to make some for. Help.

I made this mask for my 8 year old son. It looked great. The only thing I had to change is longer elastic. I used the 7 inch recommendation and it was too tight. I am going to remake it with longer elastic and I'll update. Otherwise, easy, cute mask!

@@TeresaAvila1 here in Ireland the chief medical officer recommended 3 layers of 100% cotton! I have made with both 2 and 3 layers. Harder to breath through 3 layers and any covering is better than nothing I suppose

Excellent tutorial. One question. How long do you think it can be worn by a child before the elastic hurts their ears. I'm making the headbands with buttons for hospital admin workers to attach the bands to buttons but don't know what can work for boys. Maybe buttons on their baseball caps. They may have to wear them this fall to school. Any help from anyone out there.

Thank you... it shouldn't take too long to hand sew maybe 30 - 40 mins.. just make sure you double the thread up in the needle for a more secure stitch
