Tried this tutorial after finding another one I didn't care for. This one is so simple, and for those asking how they fit.....they fit perfectly. As for the nose bridge, we decided to use a piece up pipe cleaner to fit it over the nose if we want to. I've had many compliments on them, have been asked if I sell them. There are no gaps if you do it right. This is my go to mask pattern! Need to make a minor adjustment to have it fit my 11 year old son.

Easiest video for sure! Just wish there were some replies to everyone asking about child sizes. Scrolled down loads but no replies. I have modified the pattern by sewing fabric tabs to the mask and threading the elastic through them instead of sewing the elastic directly to the mask. This makes the mask adjustable for all head sizes and avoids the rubber in the elastic being cut by the needle of the sewing machine.

Thank you. Just made four masks following this tutorial. I have slightly adjusted the measurements to fit my family. With the measurements given here, the masks fit my teenage kids but the elastic was way too tight for my husband and me. For adults, I'd say to use up to 20 cm for the elastic bands but I guess it depends on the quality of the band itself. Also, a couple of times I stitched the elastic along the seam by mistake so watch out.

Pretty straightforward -- thank you!. I added wire in the top front (just threaded into seam after I sewed it). Would also recommend using two different fabrics, so you can tell which side of mask is the front (for hygiene purposes). For the filter, I'm using embroidery backing because it's what I happen to have; I've read a couple of articles elsewhere that mention this as a possibility.

I have seen on many different tutorials that they have stated to make sure the pleats are all facing downwards so the the germs do not collect in them.. but i love 💜 this design . I’m an RN, and have posted this. Things that are microscopic can collect in the tiniest of places! You should also try to NOT use pins. When you pierce the fabric, you’re making holes that viruses can pass through.😱 If you do use pins, try to keep them in the seam margins, and not in the main piece of the fabrics. I use binder clips, and sometimes paper clips. Stay healthy, and remember to wash your hands!😁🙋🏻‍♀️🧵

Tara Martin be thankful you have a 1933 sewing machine! Those are all metal, and they are made to last. I have an old White sewing machine that was my grandmother’s, and it will sew through multiple layers of denim! It is so old, it doesn’t even have a zigzag stitch!😉LOL. But I will never get rid of it! When I think of the ones my mother got rid of that were all metal, I cringe. Yours should always be able to be worked on, and fixed, if necessary. Happy sewing!🙋🏻‍♀️😁🧵
