I absolutely LOVE your approach to beauty as a STUDY. This is the freshest perspective I have seen about face shape and beauty in general. This made so much sense to me! It will impact the way I study and appreciate beauty(which up until this point has just been an interest and hobby I love, but was bored with). It has been a LONG time since I've had an ah-ha moment regarding beauty, makeup etc. I am a teacher by profession and I have to compliment you on your natural talent for teaching by expressing your knowledge in calm/even manner while providing explanations and and visuals of examples and non examples. KZbin is jampacked with some very talented "beautygurus" who simply showcase their talent rather than teaching foundational concepts that can be applied in broad and specific ways. People in the beauty industry don't often come across as particularly intelligent as the topic may seem shallow to some, but you are an exception.

I dont think its overboard... I was about to write the same thing! It must mean she inspires this feeling in a lot of people... I dont wear makeup and have always found the whole subject to be pretty boring and shallow.. Came across this video and found her refreshingly different and profound.

I like how you explain everything instead of just saying > "here's how you contour your face!" then we watch someone who happens to have a well balanced face put on their makeup. I watched a few more of your videos and it honestly made me feel better and more confident about myself. We all have different faces but that doesn't mean we should put ourselves down when we don't like a certain feature about ourselves. instead you talk about how to can enhance what we were born with. You educate yourself before you speak and it's a very smart approach. thank you for your videos!

A lot of beauty bloggers make people who watch their videos feel ugly, either from comparing themselves to the KZbinr or from watching someone with an ugly personality. Hi Aly. I want you to know that you're the best and most serious "make up artist-youtuber" out there. Looked at many. Unlike them, you really explain so we can learn about different faces, our faces and what suits us. (They often just go on their gorgeous face like it would apply the same to all). Love, Mellonia

As a hairstylist we are taught these things. There is a science to good makeup/hair style. The concave, and convex of a face are equally important. Also love how you explained how we are not all heart, round, etc. Some people have multiple face shapes. Each person is unique, and different. Great job, you are definitely an artist, with attention to detail.

Is another comment about how much I love you excessive? Probably isn't. I love you !!! Those charts on the internet never made any sense to me, as you said, people are three dimensional, and they just flattened them down in their illustrations. It's nice and fine to see it static, unmoving on paper but in real life there are so many more factors involved like lighting which changes constantly, or simply whether how they're feeling that day, if they had puffy eyes from lack of sleep or sunken cheek because they've been sick. Thank you so much for your hard work!

Aly Art, you are an absolute delight and so generous with your knowledge. When I was younger (I'm 63 now) makeup was so easy, and my mother had classical features so when I did her makeup for her when she went out it was also easy. Now, I'm learning from you. I am always interested in the contrast between people when they stand together or are photographed together; the differences are very evident. My guys (not that many) tended to be beaky with lean faces and standing beside them in the mirror in the morning my face was very different; wide Slavic features and a shorter nose etc. That is not always a bad thing. I vividly remember a film, Murder by Decree which was a Canadian/British collaboration with Christopher Plummer (the beaky guy) and Genevieve Bujeau (horrible sp mistake will correct). There was a scene where they were conversing vr closely together and the contrast in their bone structure was radical, but neither of these great actors lost anything from that proximity. So, celebrate who you are!! I love your videos.
