New to LOL here - noticed that you usually say Mordekaiser's ultimate slows down enemies even if you don't have Rylai's item yet, I thought its pasive only did magic damage on its own, does it slow down too?

Sorry for the confusion, the ult does not slow but your passive does. When you hit 3 damaging abilities or autoattacks you get the aoe damage and slow aura from the passive. Rylais then also applies its slow on any of your abilities or in your passive.
