I've seen a lot of people talk about the other phobias, but as someone who deals with Agoraphobia I feel like I can explain it. It's a phobia that's triggered by situations or places that will cause severe anxiety, embarrassment, and helplessness. It's often triggered by places where you've had a panic attack, or many panic attacks. Though it can get worse to the point that you will refuse to go outside because the very thought can have you completely panicked. !!IT IS NOT JUST SOCIAL ANXIETY!! I've heard people say that and it cannot be further from the truth. In my personal experiences, it has caused me to almost completely shut myself down and just curl up into a ball on the floor, I've almost passed out from having panic attacks triggered by it, and has caused me to refuse to go to places that have severely triggered this before. I'm triggered by large open spaces and crowds but I'm usually okay with someone I trust. (I don't wanna hear shit about this, so don't reply saying anything about this and about how I shouldn't of done this) It was first caused by my school, due to bullying and not receiving the right type of education due to several things linked to my ADHD, Anxiety, ect. And it's gotten to the point I can't even be near a school before I'm hyper ventilating, causing me to drop out completely. It's better for my mental health in the long run, and I would rather worry about myself than future debt from mental health hospitals. I would recommend speaking to a therapist if you have really bad social anxiety as Agoraphobia can evolve from it (my own therapist, a mental health professional, told me. I'm not just saying this. I would definitely recommend doing your own research if you wanna learn more about it.

remeber everyone: fears and phobias are different. you can be afraid of things, but phobias are extreme irrational fears that can cause very extreme and irrational reactions, sometimes even affecting a person’s daily life. example: i have coulrophobia, or the fear of the clowns. i don’t just think they’re creepy, if i see one i have an anxiety attack, sometimes i break down in tears if i get too close to one. clown horror movies are fine as long as there aren’t jumpscares, then i’ll have a panic attack (learned that the hard way) it just kinda irks me when people are like “yeah LOL i have a phobia of [insert thing] because i get creeped out/uncomfy when i see [insert thing] teehee 😝”

3:00 one of the things that makes my anxiety even worse that it already is is the simple thought consisting of “What if I’m scared for a reason?” or “What if my fears come true?” Which doesn’t make sense, but still. Xylophobia is my phobia. its a fear of wooden objects or things. i can touch wooden objects its just the thought of them in my mouth it makes me gag thinking about it. eg. popsicle sticks, bark on trees, any slab of wood.

i have trypophobia and it isnt just on hands lol, its anywhere where there are a bunch of small holes all together. im not rlly scared of it, it’s just that it really unsettles me to the point where i cant look at it. it’s kind of interesting that it’s such a common phobia, like i wonder why some are affected by it and others aren’t at all
