Using a polarising belief as a hook! :) If you cannot get someone to stop and take a moment you have lost any benefit of any further copy so I think hook is one of the most important pieces of copy.

Andrew. Your videos are so very helpful and informative. Having said this, your explanation of the way you established a sense of “credibility” in your Facebook (FB) ads made you look totally unaware of the fact that you just told 99% of all FB advertisers that there’s no way that they have any business involving themselves with FB advertising. Why? Because, unlike you, they have not created a digital marketing agency, founded an educational company, or done ANYTHING similar that establishes their “credibility” in their particular niche. The issue: how do the Joe Blows of the world establish credibility in their FB ads when they lack any type of business credentials or expertise similar to yours in their market, whatever that market may be? Without explaining how the average FB advertiser can establish credibility in his or her FB ads means that the Jane Smiths of the world have no business trying to sell their products or services online via FB ads.

Thanks for this. Really interesting discussion point! I see what you're saying - it's definitely difficult when you're brand new. That said, I do believe that anyone who is credible should be able to demonstrate that credibility, shouldn't they? It doesn't have to be something huge, but there's usually something. For example - a personal trainer could just say "I'm a certified personal trainer who's worked with over 200 clients"... Or another example: "I'm a former corporate IT security specialist who shifted focus to helping the general public become more secure in their day-to-day activities online". I can see how my example might have made it sound like it has to be some sort of major credibility marker. That's definitely not the case though, and I certainly didn't intend to give that impression so I'm glad you raised this question.

@Andrew Hubbard Thank you for the thoughtful and helpful reply. I "get it." Business owners, especially those who are new, need to think creatively how they can establish some way to demonstrate their credibility. By the way, your examples were exactly what I was looking for. 🙂

Thank you Andrew, will be a dedicated follower from now on! I have been wrestling with doing Fb ads for a while now. Enrolled in a course from a US person and it is quite disappointing. Wish I had found you a month earlier!!! I am still not quite sure how the the 'Learn more' link in Insta works. I know that one cannot post links inside an Insta post. Also, how does one adapt the copy when doing the ad in FB as it seems to allow a simultaneous post since Insta was taken over by Fb???
@AndrewHubbard1
@AndrewHubbard1 3 жыл бұрын
Great to hear! 😀. When you set up an ad you can set a link for the 'Learn More' button, so whenever they click that button they go to the link you specify. So even though you can't have links in the text on the Insta post you can still use a link with an ad via the Learn More button. You can customise your creatives at the ad level in ads manager, which allows you to set different copy for Insta vs. FB. Video coming on this soon 😉

🙏Soooooooooo useful! This video combined with your other videos are getting me hyped to rock some ads. Been wondering: if I create an ad with a long video (1-2min), that includes all the elements you discuss, will long written copy distract from it? (Or vice-versa, will a long video distract from written copy?) Should a long video be accompanied by short copy, and long copy be accompanied by just an image or a super short (10sec) video? Been wondering about video vs. long copy + image. Is it either or? Thank again!!! 🙌
@AndrewHubbard1
@AndrewHubbard1 4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful Ela! Using this with a 1-2 min is perfect and it's something I do regularly. Definitely won't detract from the copy. I'm actually using 1-2 minute videos with long copy and it's working really well on several accounts so there's no need to worry about having long video + long copy. Always good to test different combinations though. And don't forget to consider your audience. If you have an audience who are extremely busy and don't like to read long copy or watch long videos it's always smart to take that into consideration with your ads.

@@AndrewHubbard1 🙏 Please forgive my indulging with another question: should the video and written copy roughly repeat each other? Or should I use each "real estate" to offer something fresh? Loving this channel and plan to watch and share all of it. Thank you so much for what you're offering here! Big fan.

Hi Andrew - this is great, Thank You. Is the post just a normal one on Facebook? Not one of the pre-selected ones with "sell tickets' etc? I can't see where the 2200 word count is - I'm getting 90, cheers - appreciate any help!
@AndrewHubbard1
@AndrewHubbard1 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bryce, glad you found it helpful. The limit is for Instagram ads, not Facebook. Not sure where you’re seeing a limit of 90. Are you talking about paid ads or Facebook Marketplace (it’s a different thing altogether)?

Sounds like you're doing it using the 'Promote' button on your Facebook page. It's not wrong at all 😀. It's a quick way to get started, but it doesn't give you as much flexibility as using Facebook's ad manager. The limits I mention here are the ones that apply when you create ads via the ad manager (facebook.com/ads/manage)
