That's a great idea for a Shyamalan movie: Aliens are about to make direct contact with humans but all their knowledge comes from the internet, so when they land on Earth they discover a desolate planet where all of humanity has been extinct for centuries, but AIs have remained stable all this time, and the supposed diplomats they were always been communicating were just bots.
@polarknight53764 ай бұрын
Reverse of this, alien ambassadors contact humans, but their language is super complex and hard to decipher. Eventually humans figure it out, and contact the ambassadors and communicate with them. The alien communications are super creepy, and weird, but also weirdly nice and accommodating. The humans chalk it up to the aliens being, well, alien. Eventually around the halfway point the humans convince the aliens to let them on board the ships and the humans find out that the ambassadors and ships are all run by ai. The problem is all of the ship controls, signs, anything made by the aliens is written in a completely different language than the one the AI are using. The symbols are the same, but otherwise the two are incomparable. The researchers are then able to translate the alien language again, much more easily this time, and it's discovered that the aliens had sent out probes to scan the universe, Like Veeger in Star Trek. Unlike Veeger however the aliens had died decades, centuries, or even millennia before the probes ever reached earth, and with no aliens to keep the probes in line, the created their own hyper-efficient language, kept devolving but even still kept on with their task to find new life. It ends with the humans destroying the spaceships, stealing and cannibalizing the alien tech, and starting a new spacefaring technological revolution, learning from the aliens' mistakes and not using ai.

Here are a couple tips on identifying AI images. I’m probably not the first person to list these, but still: Liquified parts: This includes anything from extra or misshapen body parts or textures/objects blending into each other. Scattered particles: I see this more on AI generated art. Basically, random dots and streaks of color that don’t have any place in the artwork. False lighting: My go-to method of identification. Highlights and shadows (especially in art) are either misshapen, are placed incorrectly relative to the light source, or are too intense (the highlights are too bright or the shadows are too dark). Hope this helps

The scattered particles are a surprisingly consistent issue with all generators, and I'd very much recommend looking for them. Be sure to check background gradients and shapes too. I have to point out to my mom that even if a picture is anatomically correct, everything in it looks like plastic: the people, the objects, the background. She asks me every time if I’m SURE it’s not just a filter, but eventually concedes that yes, it’s AI. How do older generations not see it? Most of us have the “uncanny valley” instinct ingrained in us… do older generations just ignore it? Or train themselves out of it? Or what?

@ellie-angel92543 ай бұрын
@@michaelcaffery5038That’s fair, it’s mostly just a problem when people try to insist it’s not AI. “Are you suuuuuure? It could just be a cool filter.” Mom, no one in the background has a face and that tree is just floating leaves, no trunk. Unless life is suddenly playing by Minecraft rules, yes, I’m sure 😂😭

@@ellie-angel9254 OK that's pretty extreme 😄. I suppose it is different for younger people who are used to scrutinising photos because they know that they can be faked. On the other hand, as I wrote, I understand older people taking them at face value as for the first 20 years of my life photos and film could not be convincingly faked so would have absolute trust in them. Photography and film were irrefutable proof. I worry a little about Holocaust deniers putting doubt into young peoples minds. It's a mind blowing thing to accept it ever happened although there is so much footage of the camps etc, so young people could be convinced it's faked. Especially with the current general disbelief in experts. Sorry for lateness of reply.

It's the same as the cgi-effect. When cgi first came out, people were wowed by how real it looked. Take a second to remember early cgi. On the other hand, I remember being able to point at every, single fakeness in the prop-department even at an early age. It is a trained skill and if you aren't trained to do it, it just doesn't register. Makes perfect sense if you think about it.

The backwards American flag is one of the few things in the image A.I. got right (& not because the US is backwards, I know we are in many ways, but we're working on it). The American flag is often worn on the right shoulder of military uniforms with the star field facing forward, or to the flag's right. This is because when the flag is displayed this way, it appears to be "flying" as the troops march forward. This tradition dates back to the U.S. Civil War when infantry and cavalry units would carry flags into battle, and the flag would stream backwards as they charged. It symbolizes the courage and respect of the soldiers, as well as the constant advancement and progress of the nation and its defenders (in theory, at least).
@Vincent_Beers4 ай бұрын

9:20 The worst thing is this wouldn’t even work because people have tried to preserve things like fruit in epoxy. Because it makes sense that if you can vacuum the air out before it sets, it should not able to rot. Unfortunately in practice that cannot be done, there will always be some air for certain bacteria to form, and others can operate the same or better in vacuum. The process will slow down but after like **maybe** a year, you’re just gonna have a table holding a rotting corpse. “As long as the table will hold them” is not very long, as it turns out.
