Thanks for opening up with articulate responses. I especially liked the parts regarding your own and the band's process--how you synthesize disparate bits into kick ass songs, even over a period of years. You all evolve with each album. Your unexpected, creative arrangements set V.W. apart! Thanks for the effort. Hoping to catch your sold-out show in Minneapolis...although Ticketmaster sucks and a lot of jerks over-bought just to gouge fans like me. Fingers crossed...

I feel like the first album is a plucky group of people going to college and finding themselves. Contra is them moving forward into the world and true adulthood. MVOTC is them coming back after having experienced Contra and other un-portrayed events, bitter about relationships and religion.
