Charlie Burchill was the reason I picked up an electric guitar and learned to play. I don't sound anything like him, but thanks Charlie for providing the spark and opening a guitar rabbit hole, which I'm still going down!

My brother says they sound like U2 but I much prefer Simple minds.. Jim Kerr is phenomenal on stage.. A true entertainer.. Love his little jump kicks he does and the way he moves his hands etc. Different and much better than U2 or Bono. x

Remember when bands were full for people who loved the whole music industry. Went to gigs. loved bands, learned an instrument, learned to write lyrics. Gigged in shitty pubs and bars for years and learned how to put on a show "earned their chops" and maybe, if they were lucky - made it big. These guys did. Don't see much if any of that these days

I absolutely love Simple Mind's.. Seen them live in 2002 when I was 22 and it was awesome.. Toryglen boys done good.. Jim Kerr is a amazing front man and entertainer.. Loved his little highkicks he'd do and the way he moved his hands and arms etc alot of folk would compare them to U2 and I can see why and I love U2 too but love Simple Mind's more... Love guys from up the road from Glasgow in a town called East-kilbride.. xxx. I got into them when I was 18-19 in 1998-99..x💙🙏ps. All the music they mentioned they love like Genesis and Roxy music etc I love all that too. My friends back in 2000 ish would say I was a old soul in a young body lol cos they all were listening to N-Sync and The Backstreet Boy's and 90s pop and I loved and was hunting all the 80s greats I could get my hands on..Scotland produced some amazing band's especially these guys and Deacon Blue and Midge Ure.. I got the absolute pleasure of meeting Midge Ure in around 2007-08 when I was 27 & got him to sign his CD album outside The Village Theatre in East-Kilbride where he done a small gig.. LOVE YOU GUYS.. Never seen as good a band live as Simple Minds... The energy Jim puts in to the performances was incredible. x❤️🙏

Millions of people trying to aid South Africa during the 1980s thanks to the music industry but no one opposed the Iraq war or aided people in Iraq. The politics of music was rigged even if gifted musicians were part of that rigged system.
