Cypher vs Evil - GRANDFINAL (Road to Quakecon 2015)
On the weekend of 11-12 July, FACEIT and EGB.com will be bringing you the annual Road2QuakeCon tournaments, with a total prize purse of $5,000.
On Saturday 11 July, The FACEIT Road2Quakecon Duel invitational will take place, with Russia Cooller, Russia evil, Belarus Cypher, Belarus clawz, Sweden Fazz, Sweden Spart1e, Sweden toxic and Austria noctis fighting for $2,500! The players will be placed in two groups, fully played in a best-of-three format. The top two players of each group head into the best-of-five single elimination playoffs.
The day after will see the four European teams which are heading to QuakeCon competing in TDM, CTF and Duel. Europe Meltdown, Europe iGamerz, Europe Averagers and Russia Deliberate Murder will face off in a single elimination bracket, with the teams first facing off in a best-of-three TDM game, followed by a best-of-three CTF game. The winner of each Best of three mode will gain 1 point. If teams are tied , both teams will select a dueller to determine the winner in a best-of-three Duel. The teams will be playing for a $2,500 prize purse.

@@benj1008 evil got DDoSed hard when he was in his prime, you could even see it in the vods when his model is lagging, but not like a usual lag (which takes some time), but rather smal warps that go one after another. He says that he got ddosed in QC too, and at one point just stopped playing since there was no purpose in playing without aim and precision and losing every other game.

Sloppy play for a grandfinal, speaking of the first few minutes of Lost World.

+Kanivakil I wouldnt say its too sloppy considering the initial spawns. Cypher managed to steal RA on spawn but without any weapons, and Evil had a 200-50 stack, positional and weapons advantage right from the spawn(The better spawn on lost world.), this means that since Cypher has a good enough stack to build on and the timing of all the items Evil cant let him get any weapons before the big items respawn(So he needs to keep Cypher out of center map and LG-room.). Since the first kill wins the entire game like 7/10 times on lost world and Evil had both bigger stack, the better position and weapons he went for the frag, what he didn't expect was Cypher hitting like 60 percent plasma. What happened after the first frag was that Cypher tried to take control over the center area, hoping that Evil got the lower spawn so that he could take RL and the 50 bubble and play for the next red and mega(Or do damage on items and rotate to LG and take both yellows.). Evil got a good spawn though and rushed since he knew Cypher was low and got the return frag. Because of that start none of them got control of both the major items and the weapons, so it sort of started going back and forth as you need the weapons to keep ra and mega, the other player was aware of this and used it as a loop hole to get the next items(Which in return left 2 yellows for the player previously in item control.), so both had about equal stacks = equal fights. Basically i just thought it was a matter of two great players pulling perfect reads on each other, but some of the plays for frags just had these weird turns(Especially from Cyphers absolutely gorgeous plasma.).

This is "Road to Quakecon," which is a different tournament than QuakeCon itself. I'm also pretty sure this is online as well. And Road to Quakecon was in Quakecon 2014 as well?
