Thank you. Giving people access to health care saves lives AND saves money. It's a win for all Americans.

My son is in a similar situation, having had a brain hemorrhage and brain surgery at age three, and having severe Hemophilia. The hemophilia alone would have broken his lifetime cap sometime in his childhood, but the brain surgery pushed him there much faster. I cried watching this video, and am grateful for the understandable way it is presented. I, too, have anxiety over the thought of repealing the Affordable Care Act. My son's medicine cost $90,000 this month. We are waiting for 2014.

love this video. we also have a daughter named zoe who was born with heart defects among other congenital defects. she too was almost at her lifetime limit art a few months old. we feel the same way about the new health care laws. zoe wouldn't be here without them. they have saved her life and enabled us to get her the medications necessary. it also ensures that she will always be able to have insurance. we are so grateful every day got the affordable health care act.

As a cancer survivor, I am very much looking forward to this act taking full effect. Right now, I'm very fortunate as I have good coverage through my employer. However, that could change at any moment. If not for the Affordable Care Act my child and I would be left out in the cold and uninsurable if I lost my job.

I think these are important, positive messages which tell the truth about health care reform. I hope when people see them they'll share them with their friends.

I'm from Canada where we have universal health care. America, it's really not as scary as you think. It's really great to know that if you need medical treatment you won't go bankrupt.

This is awesome! I think that the Health Care reform that Pres. Obama managed to pass is without a doubt the biggest leap forward in health care for America in several decades. There are still a lot of things that could be done to improve our health care laws (as there is always improvements to be made with any legislation), but just getting it to be discussed as a serious issue was accomplishment enough.

My son was born with a hip defect and on the autism spectrum. Without the Affordable Care Act, he could be denied insurance for the rest of his life.

Until this debate came to the forefront of political debate over the past few years I really didn't comprehend how extreme medical insurance or lack thereof was in your country. I am Canadian and your circumstances have made me grateful I was born in a country that has in place a means to obtain care. My father was able to receive a heart transplant here that we never could have afforded to pay for. Your country has the ability to have a greater system in place than ours does, get it now!

Come on up to Canada, Lihn family. We'd be happy to have you. And our son's congenital heart disease (2 surgeries so far) has cost us...nothing. Lots of love to you.

i am also grateful to know that someday, if i were to give birth to a child with a disability, i would be guaranteed of being able to find insurance coverage for him or her. paying out-of-pocket for a child with serious health issues could easily bankrupt a family. thanks to health care reform, people are no longer at the mercy of insurance companies who care about nothing except the bottom line.

I support Obama. I thank God every day for him and his wife. I am outraged over the greed of corporations and the ignorance of some people in this country. No person should have to live in fear that another person may cause their loved one suffering and death. Everyone deserves health care. Shame on all the people that are fighting against these people in need.

I just can't understand how anyone could possibly think the new healthcare regulations are a bad thing. We let the free market have it's way with health insurance companies, and look what happened!

I am grateful to President Obama for the Affordable Care Act. I am glad that little Zoe can now live a life without limits but a long life because of the Affordable Care Act which prohibits health plans from setting a lifetime dollar limit on most benefits.

This is why I'm glad of the NHS- I don't care how much tax it costs me, we really need it. If Obama pulls it off he might just earn that peace prize.

"by 6 months she was half way to her life time cap of what the insurance company would pay for her health care " that is the private sector and the free market's way of doing things. People are NOT commodities.

We have a political party in this country that aligns itself with the teachings of Jesus, consistently follows His example, and wants what Christ would want for Americans. I'm of course talking about Democrats. It's time Christians in America wake up and join the party that cares for the sick and the needy, loves their neighbor, does unto others, etc. etc. etc.

In the Netherlands we have universal health care. I pay 140 euro's per month for it, gladly. It means I do not have to go bankrupt and sell my house if my family members or myself get sick. I do not see why this is 'socialist' or 'communist'. It is solidarity in a community where we care for each other.

It may prohibit private health plans from setting a lifetime dollar limit...but.... There would be a cap on the total amount of money Medicare recipients could receive for care. Health care decisions will ultimately be based solely on cost - instead of on the best possible health care outcomes for Medicare patients. How many infirm, disabled, and elderly do think will survive that? I Yeah...if "they won't choose death, just cut 'em off and leave 'em to die". great thinkin'....

I don't understand. Do Republicans only care about life when the child is still a fetus? Why don't they care about life after the child is born, that they would want to deprive children like Zoe of life-saving health care?

It's time for American politicians to stop acting as though life begins at conception and ends at birth. We have to love our children as much as we love fetuses, if not more.

I will NEVER be able to fathom why ANYONE can use a dollar amount to decide that children like this can die. They either listen to all the BS propaganda that others are throwing around or they truly have to be heartless. This, alone, should give any person with a tiny bit of compassion enough reason to vote Democrat.
