THIS STORY:
Carla Jan Walker was an American homicide victim abducted from a bowling alley parking lot in Fort Worth, Texas on February 17, 1974. Her body was found three days later in a drainage ditch just 30 minutes south of Fort Worth.
In 2020, police obtained DNA from a very old prime suspect. After confirming that the sample matched the suspect's DNA, investigators interviewed him. and obtained a cheek swab. The matching of the samples were enough to arrest and charge him with the crime.
But how many other women did he kill from back then in this area, who's cases are still unsolved?

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

Those guilty of murder should receive an automatic whole life sentence: no possibility of parole, no release, no possibility of the murderer being a threat to the public again.

I graduated in 1975 at Western Hills High School- the same year Carla would have graduated. It was a terrifying and shocking time for many classmates. And a big shock decades later to learn the monster who killed her lived on our street (Marks Place) and in proximity to other WHHS class of 1975 classmates.

I'm so glad that DNA exists now. So many old cases are being solved because of it. The issue is, how do you get a life sentence and be eligible for parole in only 6 years, or at all for that matter. That's not justice for Carla or any other victim. No wonder why police departments don't want to put the money out for DNA testing on old cases. These penalties need to change badly. RIP Carla, forever more
@shirleyashanti3031

Criminal law statutes are very specific, and each element must be met for a charge to prevail. Sometimes lesser offenses are included, and Court is able to run cases consecutively instead of concurrently, thereby keeping people incarcerated if parole is granted. Cases are not always cut and dried.

Especially for the state of Texas no doubt! Texas used be a state that didn't play around w/murderers, you were put to death. But not now obviously! Too many snowflakes out there that have whined & cried about the death penalty being too harsh so now we get cases like this. Makes me sick!

@@OnTheGoWithFlo-Kid22 It’s sorely insufficient. No wonder people don’t hesitate to commit crimes. The sentence doesn’t fit the crime. This is a result of a faulty system and deals because there are so many crimes it’s a revolving door. Even with DNA these criminals still don’t pay the full consequences of their predatory actions. One day, they’ll face the true judgment.

I lost my True Love through a horrific accident, but to lose your True Love this way… I just can’t imagine. Carla will always be a part of him. There is no boundary that holds Love back. I’m sure he holds Carla dearly in his heart. They will meet in the hereafter. Carla is in a beautiful place and with her parents now. One day Rodney will see his Carla again. 💞🌹 RIP Carla dear. What's interesting is Ron said the coroner's report said the labs they ran on Carla showed she had morphine in her system. What allot of ppl don't know is that Heroin will metabolize in the body w/a positive test for morphine. So him being a truck driver is probably how it was easy for him to get his hands on the drug as he was traveling across country & he probably did that cuz he was married & he needed Carla to be quiet & not make allot of noise. Knowing this I certainly hope she was out of it the whole time so she didn't feel the torture he put her through. Only God knows for sure about that but I certainly hope so.

She was beautiful. They were a beautiful couple. More than likely they would've gotten married if that freaking monster hadn't been out that night. I hate stories like this, where he did this and just went on for years living his life, doing whatever he wanted, living among her friends and family and more than likely hearing people talk about Carla. People like this have to be dead inside. No heart. So 6 years? I hope when the time comes they don't look at this frail monster of a human and feel sorry for him and let him out. Her life was and is worth alot more than 6 years. Thanks Ron. Not to far from where you was at.

One thing I’ve learned growing up in Chicago is lock your car door as soon as you get in. I’ve done it so many times, it’s automatic with me. My husband laughed at me one time because my car automatically locks the door. The only thing is the car has to be going a certain speed before it locks. Enough time for someone to open my door. After showing him this, he’s not laughed at me again. People, learn to lock your door as soon as you get in to your car!! It could save your life.

It’s funny, you mention that. I do the same thing that you do, and it’s smart. When the car is sitting there, as when you’re most vulnerable, especially in transitional areas like gas stations, or stores. It does not automatically lock until you get going. Correct correct

Such tragedy for this beautiful young woman. May she forever rest in peace. A life sentence in Georgia is eligible for parole in 7 years, but it doesn't mean it will be granted, only that it's up for review. Court sometimes makes other charges to run consecutively in case parole is granted, so they cannot be released. An awful reality.

The judicial system is disgusting. Life in prison should mean just that. I am with you Ron on that.

Wonder if the boyfriends DNA was also found on the Ruger? And by the way, the older Ruger .22 pistols had the magazine catch on the butt of the gun. Using the butt of the gun as a club would probably dislodge the magazine. Have to wonder why the cops back then did not get a warrant to search the bad guys house...

Its good they caught her killer but I too don't understand how he would be eligible for parole? What a sweet couple and so sad that happened to them.😔❤
