I've been using cerium oxide pads for smoky quartz. I have the batt lap but haven't used it yet. Would the batt lap be better for quartz?

Steve uses the spectra laps with cerium on all quartz, too. He uses the cerium spectra laps for quartz and opals. The batt lap with 50,000 diamond for most other things.
