Thank you! Most people think I was influenced by "take on me" but after hours of letting cryptomnesia do its thing I think my inspiration came from the guitar solo in "Funny Little Frog" by Belle and Sebastian.

Yo this sounds exactly like a song made for the Scott Pilgrim VS the World Video Game. Amanaguchi actually did that OST, and someone has already pointed out that this sounds like something he made, but I think you'd love that stuff if you heard it! Of course, this is assuming that you haven't already and it wasn't what influenced you. Either way, this is amazing!

First of all: Thank you so much! Second: Interesting. Which one? Please don't tell me it is "my skateboard will go on" because my melomaniac ass will not tollerate such incorrect comparison haha. They could sound alike in style (specially since I use old and/or free VSTis that can sound very Nintendo-ish) but they don't share any chord progression, bass line or drum pattern at all.
