In New York City, activist and Black Lives Matter protester, Dwreck Ingram, was seemingly subject to a facial recognition search by the NYPD. While housing activists Tranae Moran and Fabian Rogers from the Atlantic Towers complex in Brownsville, Brooklyn, were threatened with eviction in the face of their resistance to having facial recognition installed in their apartment.

That algorithm was and is being designed by people that I'm sure have excluded themselves from the surveillance apparatus... Just like usual. Take from that what you will... It's doing exactly what we're seeing happening right before us. I honestly don't know how can there be any case of optimism after this. Any talk of optimism seems very naive at this point.

I think it’s a good tool in some cases, like trying to find a child rapt or murderer but I think this way out of line, I am from a very small community in northern Michigan and it was hard for me to believe how many racist some areas are until I started watching videos like this, I think poor people can be targeted like this too, not just a skin color thing, idk that’s just my opinion, regardless it’s just wrong and divides people.!

As a poor person who has been targeted by cop who is a PoC, race as a factor is overhyped. Class is a much bigger factor.

Let’s see if those cameras are still going to be able to recognize “Cardi B” in a couple of years, as she keeps getting more face lifts.

What type of data is saved with facial recognition identification, does it include your Bluetooth ID, record your phone number, Wi-Fi hotspot, nearby share, airdrop, (OTA) over the air updates, ect? Do you always have to use your biometric identification screen unlock twice?

Search Berlin Wall Article Talk Language Download PDF Watch Edit This article is about the wall that surrounded West Berlin during the Cold War. For the border that divided most of East and West Germany, see Inner German border. For the video game, see The Berlin Wall (video game). For the ring wall around the historic city of Berlin, see Berlin Customs Wall. The Berlin Wall (German: Berliner Mauer, pronounced [bɛʁˌliːnɐ ˈmaʊ̯ɐ] (listen)) was a guarded concrete barrier that divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989. It encircled West Berlin, separating it from East German territory.[1] Construction of the wall was commenced by the German Democratic Republic (GDR, East Germany) on 13 August 1961. The Wall cut off West Berlin from surrounding East Germany, including East Berlin.[2] It included guard towers placed along large concrete walls,[3] accompanied by a wide area (later known as the "death strip") that contained anti-vehicle trenches, beds of nails and other defenses. The Wall's "death strip", on the east side of the Wall, here follows the curve of the Luisenstadt Canal (filled in 1932). GDR authorities officially referred to the Berlin Wall as the Anti-Fascist Protection Rampart (German: Antifaschistischer Schutzwall, pronounced [antifaˌʃɪstɪʃɐ ˈʃʊt͡sval] (listen)). The West Berlin city government sometimes referred to it as the "Wall of Shame", a term coined by mayor Willy Brandt in reference to the Wall's restriction on freedom of movement.[4] Along with the separate and much longer Inner German border (IGB), which demarcated the border between East and West Germany, it came to symbolize physically the "Iron Curtain" that separated Western Europe and the Eastern Bloc during the Cold War.[5] Before the Wall's erection, 3.5 million East Germans circumvented Eastern Bloc emigration restrictions and defected from the GDR, many by crossing over the border from East Berlin into West Berlin; from there they could then travel to West Germany and to other Western European countries. Between 1961 and 1989, the Wall prevented almost all such emigration.[6] During this period, over 100,000[7] people attempted to escape, and over 5,000 people succeeded in escaping over the Wall, with an estimated death toll ranging from 136[8] to more than 200[5][9] in and around Berlin. In 1989, a series of revolutions in nearby Eastern Bloc countries-in Poland and Hungary in particular-caused a chain reaction in East Germany.[10] In particular, the Pan-European Picnic in August 1989 set in motion a peaceful development during which the Iron Curtain largely broke, the rulers in the East came under pressure, the Berlin Wall fell and finally the Eastern Bloc fell apart.[11][12][13] After several weeks of civil unrest, the East German government announced on 9 November 1989 that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. Crowds of East Germans crossed and climbed onto the Wall, joined by West Germans on the other side in a celebratory atmosphere. Over the next few weeks, the likes of souvenir hunters chipped away parts of the Wall.[5] The Brandenburg Gate, a few meters from the Berlin Wall, was opened on 22 December 1989. The demolition of the Wall officially began on 13 June 1990 and was completed in 1994.[1] The "fall of the Berlin Wall" paved the way for German reunification, which formally took place on 3 October 1990

Algo rythim is not accurate science. I was picked off the street by 20 plainclothes officers and blamed for an attack on an old couple by a report. All twenty blamed me , Culprit and me resembled each other . Only difference was our jaw bone structure . His was ninety degree angled while my jaw bone was curved . Spooky for me to see a spitting age of me . So Facial recognition is not a one answer.

Navalny is a self proclaimed racist, ultranationalist and Neonazi He DOES not deserve the support of a antiracism organization like the AI. As a ultranationalist he once said he would kill all the immigrants in Russia with hi own pistols. As a racist he called Kafkaz people "roaches". As a Neonazi he organized Ruski Skinhead marches in Moscow back in the day. He also has no respect for veterans who fought so brave against fascism - maybe because he is a fascist himself?

Sometimes the algorithm may go wrong, sometimes innocent people may get inconvenienced, but so what, it is helping in tracking and cracking lot of crimes around the world. Imagine when therr were no CCTV cameras around, it was impossible to find out a culprit, but with CCTV cameras around, the job has become easy. Technological flaws cam be removed, but banning a technology is not the right choice. Amnesty International is notorius for supporting the berserk mob mentality and protesting Governments all over the world. Every person entering an aeroplane has to undergo a serious and thorough security check, does it make you feel like a terrorist ? If you have lost a near and dear one to such plane hijack and terrorist attack, you may agree to my point of view.

@@WhoAmEye_WhoAreEwe I don't have issues though I am or may be at the centre of this. The feeling that there are these CCTV guards doing their job to save me by identifying history sheeters and terrorists around me, I give the permission even though it may be privately spying on me, because I am not doing anything that may hurt the nation or people in this lovely nation. And if the algorithm wrongly posts me, i will defend and try to prove otherwise, but I will now ask for banning the face recognition at all, because alongwith this there are other evidences needed to prove that I was there when the camera caught me wrongly.
