Two major tips you offered made a huge difference in my rigging problems: 1. placing of bones while going in and out of the bones-in-front (X-ray)view and 2. resetting the scale and location on the bones (and mesh) before generating the rig. Thank you for all the great tips on facial rigging.

@@Ozaf20 Sorry. I thought you were saying that the Rigify buttons were missing from your UI. Based on your comment I think you are referring to the additional options under the Rigify Buttons section. The options under the Feature Set selector. You are correct that I never made a video describing the process of getting these options but if you look in the description of this video you will see links for the extra Rigify tools. Visit those links and follow the directions to install them and you will see the extra options. If I still have this wrong reply and give me some links to screen shots showing your exact issue and I will be happy to do all I can to help.

Is it possible to combine this rig with the rest of a character that already has the body rigged?
@sanaullahraisofficial3 жыл бұрын
What u can do is, add a new character in blender and then install rigify, and add rig..After this switch to 3D cursor to adjust the scale...Okay now, select the rig from neck to feet and press H to hide it, Now first rig the face. PRESS NUM 1 to change camera view to front. After this change bone style to wire so u can easily places bones on face. From viewport also check "Names", It will show bones name. So u can know where to place the bone on face. Hide the teeth and tongue bones by pressing H , and rig it later. When u are done with face, hide the face mesh and now rig teeth and tongue. After then PRESS ALT+H to unhide all bones and now finally place bones on body. If u want perfect result for face rig, make sure u place bones on mesh face.

Hello. I have a problem-- the rig refuses to generate with any of the necessary bones or widgets, instead only generating with the base arrow widget, which does not appear to do anything. Would you happen to know what's wrong?

I delete the nose because i dont need it. and blender give me error phyton "nose no found" what i can do?
@GetGoodwithVince2 жыл бұрын
Rigify can be very sensitive when deleting bones. There are some bones you just can't delete and expect the rig to be generated properly. I have never been able to tell when deleting bones may cause a problem so I tend to move very slowly. I delete a bone then generate the rig. If I run into an error I simply undo. If I deleted a chain of bones I move up or down the chain and try again. If I can't delete bones I just uncheck the deform option for them and move the bone to a layer that I hide. Hope this helps.

you have to to top left "Edit" tab and go to Preferences whit a settings cog. then go to add-ons and from there search Rigify. it should show a result and then push it on from a tiny box on the left next to the add on. then add a bone, go to edit mode and delete the bone in edit mode then continue the video normally.

K, so im a dumb dumb, i created the rig and then went in afterwards and modified it to how i like which works quite well so far. What im wondering about tho is the "no neck bone" situation, my whole body moves with the jaw but i cant seem to find any part which has the enire body weighted... Any idea as to how one might fix this? Thanks!

I don't know why when I parented the mesh to the rig with automatic weight, I got my mesh became weird shape. Even tho I applied the scale and location and made the rig and mesh's origin to the same location. Please help.
@GetGoodwithVince4 жыл бұрын
When you say “making a weird shape” I assume it’s more than just the mesh being in the wrong place. Just making some guesses here. Try applying the scale and location to both the rig and the mesh. Also, make sure you delete any additional armature modifiers and vertex groups from your mesh before you bind/parent it to the armature. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

@@GetGoodwithVince I got another problem. When I created a cat metarig, editted the bones in edit mode and applied all the transform, I can see the bones out of original position after creating rig. Hi, Thank for the tutorials. I'm new to Blender and Rigify. Now, try to rig the face model from Bellus3D (obj file). By the way, it is possible this rigged face model export to other facial motion capture software? (i.e. iclone7...)
@GrayCatTheMemeMachine3 жыл бұрын
Probably a bit late to tell you, but I'm guessing yeah. Rigify just creates the bones. After you export the model with everything intact it should just function as a regular model by that point, allowing you to do anything you need including facial stuff.

Can u help me 😌🙂 i dont know why after i generate rig my rig doesnt stay in the place i apply scale but it doesnt change anything 😔 i really hope u will help me because this is for my project
@GetGoodwithVince4 жыл бұрын
I would apply the location to the rig. You can do this using the same menu as apply scale. Also, make sure that you are not moving all the bones a significant distance when in edit mode. In other words if you need to move the head rig a good distance then do so in object mode and then use edit mode to fine tune the locations of individual bones. Let me know if you are still having trouble and maybe you could send me the blend file.

Hi maXel. If you go to the Github pages and download the zip files you can install them like any other addon. Just go to Edit -> Preferences and then in the Addon tab click the Install button. Navigate to the saved zip file and select. There are tons of vides on KZbin where people install addons and you can find one faster than I could get one posted anyway. Lol
