With the team chat thing, basically the game has to assign you to a team in order for it to work (for example jailbreak puts you on prisoner/police team depending what you are) and then you can use the TEAM chat to talk amongst other people with that tag, but in flee, windy never assigned a tag to a player when they become survivor/beast so it doesn't work.

I knew about the /team thing when I used to play Prison Life to communicate to my team. I tested it in flee a few months ago but it sadly didn't work. If it gets added then it will make communicating much easier. Epic video (as always). 😎
