It’s one of the reasons I love this channel, I in theory like a youtuber who has a bit of a blunt, honest, “idgaf what people think of me” attitude when making videos, but too often it ends up as an outlet for them to showcase some problematic beliefs, and it turns me off the youtuber. And I just think “I can’t fault them for their honesty, but I will fault them for being sexist as f” and then I stop watching them. It’s refreshing to meet someone who falls somewhere in “idgaf what people think of me, but I refuse to be anything other than a decent human being”

And this is exactly why so many companies pay shit wages. They know (um...knew, anyway) that they could keep their pay low and still get employees, ones who are easily replaced. A lot of companies are learning the hard way, right now, that that little game is not going in their favor. All the shortages we're having now are causing no end of grief, but a lot of the problem is that finding employees to move products isn't so easy now. People are finding other ways to get by.

Yeah, he doesn't let their money talk for his mind. He realizes that he's doing a favor for covering anything for others, and that they need to meet him in the middle by respecting what he stands for. Corporate bodies try to inject their own stipulations via a price tag and he couldn't give a flip less, and is very transparent about it. It's refreshing compared to those who safeguard there chances for sponsorship by making it all behind the scenes and censoring the negative these companies and businesses try to suppress through strong arming.

Add in the 10% of income that should be put into the emergency fund as you never know when you will need to pay for something like a new camera or a computer. Never run a business that forgets to put money to the side for emergencies as they will always be in trouble when something dose happen. And yes you can turn some of that emergency money into upgrades once you reach a safe point to be able to replace the most expensive item in the business other then the physical location.

I was forced by the UK government to work for free back in 2008-2011 for almost 4 months from 7.5 months. I worked 9 to 5 for five days a week; they called it "volunteering" to work instead of doing a job interview and I worked for 11 week with Matalan and 6 weeks for Poundland. The idea was to put people on the dole (Jobseekers allowance) into these agency-run programs that had people spend eight hours a day for eleven weeks looking for a job. They gave each person a phonebook and told us to start cold-calling businesses, any business (they didn’t care what your preferences were) and ask for a job. You were to take every job vacancy in the area and apply for it, even if you didn’t match the qualifications; this was because the agency got paid by each employed head or volunteered head. If you said no to any of them, they’d cut your benefits for that week. Essentially it was a jobless call centre, cold calling businesses to hire us; and as everyone was doing this alphabetically you can expect that all sorts of businesses got these cold-calls hundred of times a day because we weren’t the only group. For Matalan I was working in the chance of earning a zero hour contract and after the 11 weeks of free labour where they own *paid* staff just lounged around in the warehouse while myself and two others worked ourselves ragged; the manager hired those contracts to people who did interviews. Poundland was worse as after 6 weeks of working and being overly helpful to the customers. Their staff wouldn’t show people where items were in their shop but I would (and I still do in my paid job). I was told to come back to my agency by their manager the next day, and when I went down they brought me into the office and said the Poundland was dropping me because I was “Rude to the customers, changing shelf prices and being intimidating to staff.” As they tried to discipline me about “how I should act” I was silently in shock for a minute before just breaking down into tears. They started this disciplinary with the door open to 60 other people on benefits (a mix of people who wanted a job and those who just wanted the dole money) as well as another standing in the office wanting help on their CV. In short, Fuck Matalan and Fuck Poundland.

That program was properly stupid. Why would those companies hire on staff that they could rotate out of the bank for free.

I've always referred to being one lesson ahead as the "Billy Connolly School of Banjo Method". "But she foun-... was only a block away was the Glasgow folk centre. She said 'They give lessons there.'; an' I went up, and I got a le-... an' six weeks later I was the teacher. Because the guy who was teaching me was two pages ahead of me in the Pete Seeger 'How To Play The Banjo' book, and I caught up, y'know. An' so I became the teacher, and I was the teacher for four weeks until some other clever arse took over from me." - Billy And Albert (July 1987)

Honestly, big respect that Karl can pay his editors in full even with everything going on. It weirdly puts into perspective how well a Channel can do on one add before a video OR a sponsor during, considering the amount of times I’ve been whiplashed by an add in the middle of a raid shadow legends sponsorship during some videos by other people. Hope you guys keep up the good work

Hold on - youtube cut ad revenue by half? Despite the fact they've made youtube borderline unwatchable due to shoving ads everywhere including into non-monetised ads and as far as I can tell randomly into videos that dont have mid roll ad markers etc. Just wherever youtube's algorithm thinks is a good spot but never is.

Like the video only thing i disagree with is calling out the yo! Thing I understand Karl's point of view but it's like the pot calling the kettle black with that business name he has. he will dock points from someone for starting a business conversation with yo because its unprofessional but does he expect other businesses to not do the same to him with that unprofessional business name? Regardless that "teacher" guy was an idiot lol

Yeah, as an artist, writer, and [insert whatever other freaking job I do on the side] it's really hard to find well paying work as a content writer. I can't tell you how many people email me asking for a book cover, illustration, and don't want to pay for the 15+ hours it's going to take me to design and paint it. Or UpWork jobs posted offering to pay $7 for a fucking 2000 word article. :/

The only time one should work for free is if they are 100% their own boss and the owner of the company, which they've just started, or if it's for a literal charitable organization such as a soup kitchen, church, etc.
