If you don't understand how he just put random numbers like -6 and -5 here is a short explanation: Remember to multiply the first term coefficient(2) by the last term 15 = 30. NOW which numbers can add to -11 AND multiply to 30? let's try -6, -5. Yes it's correct -5 -6 = -11 and -5 x -6 = 30 (that is the step he didn't show)

It’s easier to do slide and divide! We have the equation in ax^2 + bx + c format Therefore, 2x^2 - 11x + 15 Take the coefficient (the two in front of the X) and slide it over and multiply it with 15. 2 • 15 = 30 Now we have x^2 - 11x + 30 (but keep the coefficient for later! Or write it down so you don’t forget!) Now find what adds to get ‘b’ (-11) and what multiplies together to get ‘c’ (30) If you find the factors, it’s -5 and -6 So you can plug those in with x^2 (x - 5) (x - 6) but it’s not done! Remember the coefficient (2) we saved for later, now we’re going to divide our numbers by that! (x - 5/2) (x - 6/2) Our 6/2 can divide into 3! So we have (x - 3) for one of our parts. The 5 does not divide, so we just bring that ‘2’ in front of the x instead! (2x - 5) And now we put them beside each other (2x - 5)(x - 3) It sounds harder than it actually is, but it’s super easy to remember the steps especially for tests and stuff Source: I’m a college tutor 💀

2x divided by 2x^2 = x 2x divided by -6x = - 3 He is dividing the number outside the parenthesis. E.g 2x( )and -5( ) he got 2x from 2x^2 and -6x cause their GCF is 2x. And same with -5 is the GCF of -5x and 15.

First you have to multiply the 2 from 2x^2 to the 15 which gets you 30, now you have 30 and -11, -6 and -5 both get you 30 and -11 In other words multiply the a and c value then see what numbers fit into the product of those two numbers and the b value Ax^2 +Bx = C Hope this helps 🙏

You need to multiply the coefficient of x² by the number without an x and then find 2 numbers which multiply to make the same thing, and add to make the number in front of the x. 2×15=30 and -6×-5=30 and -6-5=-11 so you split it to make 2x²-6x-5x+15
