You’re a hero. I know this is from 8 years ago and you won’t see this but thank you. My Precalculus textbook by James Steward doesn’t offer a way to factor these types of polynomials so this is great help!

In 5:05 you multiply 1 by 3, why is this? The leading coefficient is 1, so why do we multiply by -3? I thought the rule was that we only multiply by the end number if the coefficient does not equal to 1, thanks

I’m just now realizing that the “X” factoring method that works for x^2 +bx+c also works for ax^2 +b+c. The X favoring method is the exact same as the one shown above but it’s just drawn out visually a little differently
