Factors Affecting Solar Cell Conversion Efficiency

I showed many times to people in my part of the World where I baked eggs on a solar panel.Highest temperature I ever measured on a panel in the desert was 79 degree cel. Their average lifespan was around 12 years, after that,once need to replace them or else,mount two or three more which was impossible.

Does efficiency is important factor for purchasing solar panel? *One hand, 1 KW panel with 15 percentage efficiency.. *Other hand, 1 KW panel with 22 percentage efficiency .. In this case does the power generation changes or size of the panel changes..? Please clarify my doubt..
