I replaced the original firewall pad with a factory reproduction piece. I was in the middle of an ac install so that was the best time to do it. It’s for 60-66 which leaves you with holes that you may not need. Overall it looks good with everything in place. Links to all the parts you’ll need.

I'm using nuts, bolts and fender washers to hold mine in. Those black plastic pins are ridiculous. I broke a few trying to hammer them in.

They are a pain to install. I actually stuck one on the end of a drill bit and spun it while holding a piece of sandpaper just to get it to fit through the hole.

Yeah, found that those push pins are worthy of some choice words today… I am not overly happy with the figment, and totally agree that all the holes should have just been perforated and let the end user cut out what they need! 1964 C20 Resto-Ratmod is my long term project (last 7 years- all the way down to the frame.)

Yeah those push pins are a pain. Firewall pad looks good in the end but it could be a lot better. Thanks for watching the video and good luck on your 64

Weird cuts are probably to fit right hand drive. Looks good a lot better than what’s on mine, added to my todo list 👍

I don’t think it would work on right hand drive. I think it’s made for several different models and options of that era.

I could picture you in a F F F _ford_ model A. Only FF F F _ford_ I'd buy. I was considering getting one of these pads for mine but after seeing your struggle I may make my own of just carpet over deadmat. I'd prefer original parts but some things aren't worth the pain

It was definitely a pain to install.

How's it holding up? Mine new cardboard turned almost whitish gray after a year. My other truck I did a rubber firewall pad and it looks and fits so much better!

So far mine still looks the same as it did when I installed it. Where did you get your pad? And where did you get a rubber firewall pad? I didn’t know anyone made one.

I bought mine from quietride solutions and the fit around the hump is horrible. I’m chunking it in the trash and getting something else.

Not the best fit in the world. What’s disappointing, at least for me, is that the pad I got was made in 🇺🇸
