The progression of the Music reminds me a lot of songs from pizza tower. It starts off relatively calm and instead of speeding up it just adds more and more layers of music. Good stuff!

I wouldn't necessarily call NSMB2 a 'bad' game, maybe mediocre if anything. It holds up fine as a Mario game on it's own, but I do agree that the focus on coins was a weird design choice. Maybe that's just me though, you can consider it a bad game if you want.
