Hey brother my names Chris from OC California not fancy ass beach area but ghetto ads Santa Ana garbage grove. Dropped out of school at 15 started working in body shops full time since. I do everything on my cars don't trust or want to have anyone touch my rides. Keep up the good work. Don't listen to haters or shit talkers, you take your time to help people anyone who talks deal is waste of space and time bro. Thanks youve helped me once or thrice on some stupid brain cart problem I've had. Thanks. Hope to see chevelle ss done. If you need help doing body and paint I'll drive on down to help.

Answers my problem. My temp gauge sets straight up at about 210 to maybe 220 with a 190 thermostat in it. I checked the temp of engine with an inferred temp tester and it says temp is about 195. So as you did, looks like I need to install a resistor. Thank you very much Chris.

Thank you Chris. I have the same problem on my 70 chevelle. Ground was the problem. Work now great. Super. René

Hi Chris I want to start by saying thank you for subscribing to my channel I am having problems with my 1969 Firebird temp gauge same thing like your video I did all the test you did and still I don't have no signal going to my temp gauge my wiring is all correct for my car I checked all the continuity test I could possibly do I even ground out the green wire from the temp gauge to the engine and the needle pegs going straight to hot but when I turn on the car and let it warm up I don't get no signal doesn't move at all and if you see your video when you turn the ignition on the needle goes down then comes back up onto the car gives you a reading my car do not do that but you think I need to ground also the resistor like you did on the video thank you for all your help I also put a temp auxiliary gauge like the one you have and it works perfect I like to have my car with original gauges and working ones thank you for taking out my videos you been a big help for years now

The instrument cluster was a used original one I bought that I had Mr Tachman rebuild calibrated, cleaned with new resistors they applied as they tested it, the under dash harnesses is a new stock 72 SS harness with plug for cluster, yes there is continuity to green wire for sensor, as for the gauge I tried with and without ground hookup it's the same, st one point I shorted out the circuit board a while back bc I left battery hooked up and while I was tightening the screws with ratchet on back it slipped and caused it to arc and sizzle, lesson learned I disconnected battery and replaced the circuit board, could that have harmed the gauge when that happened? I don't want to make another mistake bc to test with key on it has to get power from battery, I watched how you tested but just don't wanna burn out another one if I don't do it right.

ok.... the 72 ss harness... (is this a factory dummy light round gauge harness or an SS round gauge with analog gauges? ) they are wired completely different....

Hi, chris, good videos. my question is in reference to the green wire for the temp sensor. where in the engine harness is it located? mine was cut a some point and the the dark green wire i found went over and ended at a plug where the a/c used to be. i did the conversion and have power to the temp gauge just need to find the wire to complete the connection...thx

When car is off and cold what should be the normal position of gauge? The needle on mine is a little bit passed the first small line after 100. Thanks

Hi Chris, I noticed when I was loosening the nut on sending the unit the threaded part was turning, should it? And does it mean I should replace it? I grounded my temp gauge with pig tail to housing and needle still doesn't move when it was all connected. Thanks

the only question i have is??? when you bought the conversion GAUGES.. did you rewire the dash harness for GAUGES? have you tested it like i did in the video, where you have power on with key, etc..? did you run continuity to the green wire that goes to the sensor? is the sensor hooked up????

Need some body work done and a Pontiac 350 5.7 rebuilt. It bogs down, I thought it was the timing chain or the carb.. nobody really knows Pontiacs in the Lufkin area right. The RH side door right on the body line was dented deep and someone caked it with bondo. Thanks for messaging back, great vids!
