Mr. S.V. Vijayan Sundaram from Chintadripet, Chennai, experienced a traumatic accident at his factory job when he amputated his index finger while working with a hydraulic press machine. Amidst the panic and chaos, he managed to bring his amputated finger to the hospital in good condition. Despite the complexity of the case, Dr. Sabari Girish Ambat, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Apollo First Med Hospitals, Chennai, expertly reattached his finger. Mr. Sundaram is overjoyed to have his finger restored to perfect condition and is deeply grateful for the compassionate and skilled care he received. This incident highlights the importance of bringing an amputated body part to the hospital immediately and properly packed, as reattachment is often possible and worthwhile.
