Alexander Baine in 1843 was the one who invented the electric printing telegraph. The first recognizable version of what we consider the telephone fax was invented in 1964 by the Xerox company, but the technology that led to that advancement was created earlier via the man above. Many scientific and technologic advancements are based off layers of other inventions.

Alright so I looked it up and telegraph was already invented, what he invented was called the Electric Printing Telegraph. It was sorta similar to fax but I wouldn't really call it similar enough to call it a fax. So what the machine did was send a signal using a 28 key piano keyboard for the sender and the receiver would receive that signal at their machine and it would print out the letter that was entered. For the time this was impressive technology. The word fax comes from the work facsimile which means to make an exact copy especially of writing. This machine didn't do that so I wouldn't consider it a fax machine.

But the Aztecs as a society did not really begin until the 1300's, centering in the Mexico City area. The Mayans (long story here) really formed about 2000BC and were based in the Yucatan area of MX. 🙂
