When my grandfather was actively dying a few years ago, he was completely out of it. He had family in and out all day the final few days of his life. Everyone of course told him that they loved him, but he was basically comatose and unable to respond. However, on the last day of his life, I was visiting him again (I was his caretaker towards the end, before we put him in hospice) and I told him I loved him, and he responded saying "I love you too"

I'm sorry about your grandfather. I was my dads caregiver for the last two years of his life. The last couple days of his life he was in the hospital and being given pain meds. He was out of it to the point he wasn't talking or not even really there. My siblings and our significant others were all in the room with him while he was taking his last breaths. I was holding his hand telling him I loved him and it was ok to go we didn't want him to be in pain anymore. He squeezed my hand, took a couple more breaths and he was gone. The doctor had told me that the hearing was the last to go. I believe with all my heart that he heard me and he knew we were all there and though we'd miss him it was ok to go and he took his final breath and was gone. I'm so happy for you that he was able to say those words back to you. It was because he heard you.

Nice story man, when my Dad passed, it was the same as your story, i was looking after my Dad, except i looked after him right up til he went to the hospital at the end, he had lung cancer. He hadnt said a word for like 4 days, and the last day, the day he passed, he woke up, and was talking to everyone, and even asked everyone to leave, except me, and he told me how much he appreciated having me with him thru all this. (Im starting to tear up just thinking about it, and it's been 15 years), and now im looking after my Mom, I quit 2 jobs to look after my Dad, and quit another good job to look after my Mom, and i have NO regrets. In fact, the opposite, im so glad i got to share their last years so closely. I refuse to let my parents go to a Nursing home, I hear far too many horror stories, they were always there for me. Thanks for the great comment, brought back lots of great memories.

Being a twin myself I often think of fun scenarios like the very same on in this video. Another interesting thought is if twins were born at 11:59pm and 12:00am they would have different birthdays, take it further and say it was new years Eve and new years day they would be born within different years🤯🤘

@@neilmooney5053 , You mean the history books written by the English? Don’t make me laugh. The attempted genocide on the Irish is well documented. Read about it? Something ironic and more recent is that after centuries of mistreatment by the English, the Ireland is a leader in the tech industry. Unemployed people from England are now working in Ireland’s fields. That’s still happening so you don’t have to look it up in a history book. Just Google it.
@ZeoViolet
@ZeoViolet Ай бұрын
@@neilmooney5053 seancallahan9026 was technically correct, before the Great Potato Blight. The Irish poor thrived on a potato diet, which grew very well in the climate and where even a single acre could feed a family, and they'd grow it right up to their doorsteps. After the introduction of the potato, the Irish poor's population exploded, because they had a nutritionally dense diet to depend on, and produced very healthy, handsome children. Irish lads were noted to be big, strong, and handsome. Then...the Blight came, and nowhere was hit harder than Ireland, and the starvation and disease ran rampant because of the fuckwits who promoted the idea that the Irish were lazy, Catholic drunkards who didn't want to do any work, so they deserved what they got. The people in power did distribute corn the first year...then they pulled back when the Blight happened in subsequent years. Landowners promised passage to America or Canada to seem generous to their poor tenants, and to avoid getting assassinated for tripling rents and driving out the families on their land. People all over the world stepped up to provide aid to those in desperate plight, but in the end, the Famine killed over a million of Ireland's poorest people. And it wasn't even the poorest who fled to America or Canada. It was those who still had the means to save a few coins, enough to buy passage on a ships that had a high death rate for cramming a lot of people together so diseases could run their course, in a dark hold with little or no light or fresh air.

@ 25:35 to add on to the "screaming grass" and the *stuff* that's released? When a plant, tree, etc. is under stress, from damage, lack of care or just old age, they emit a certain chemical smell or something that sends a signal out much like a distress signal. The plant eating creatures will go for that plant and eat it first. In this way the species of plant life has the "strong survive" gene thing going on and the animal gets a snack that's nice and tasty without as much damage to the enviornment. This might explain that when you plant your garden some of the stuff gets eaten right away by the rabbits and squirrels and deer! Plant is under stress, sends the "I'm not in great shape, just eat me!" signal.

Although I have a vague memory that some comedian then made an exaggerated sketch about that and it got confused with what she had actually said, or something (I'm in Europe, so I don't usually follow the USA elections much, just ran into that somewhere online). I suppose that got stuck in my mind because yes, it's pretty obvious from maps, and besides, there was that land bridge connecting Asia with North America back during the last glaciation humans used to move from one to the other soo there can not be THAT much ocean between them.

I already knew about eating a lot of carrots over a long period of time will turn your skin orange. Strange eating habits bordering on eating disorders abound in my family. My stepbrother and stepsister went for 2-3 years eating only one sweet potato a day. Their skin turned dark orange. I figured it was because my step-dad held the strange belief that children don't need to eating every day. They were adults when they did the sweet potato thing, but when you have to grow up like that, you honestly don't understand how bizarre that kind of behavior is. I spent a good chunk of my life not eating every day. Usually just one meal twice a week. I felt a lot of guilt when I ate.

One of my IT department directors suffered from cancer. He began a regimen of eating a LOT of carrots. Supposed to have some use in fighting the 'Big C'. Of course, he did wind up having orangey skin. The fact he favored wearing green suits just made it worse. 😅

2:42 chemically, the more catalyzator in the chemical reaction, the more reactants can turn into products at the same time. So since these oranges have more chlorophil, they turn more water and carbon bioxide into oxygen and glucose (sugar) in the same time. And when the plant doesn't need that much energy, it just puts the sugar into the fruit, because the fruit (in case it's planted) will need it later. So it makes sense that the green oranges are sweeter

I'm pretty sure an orange seed cannot germinate inside its own fruit and if it did, it wouldn't have adequate resources to grow.
@ninazagorova4194

@@RenditionLies in that case, I think as the fruit starts rotting, the dirt gets some things from it, so the seed has access to dirt that has mixed with the things stored in the fruit But at the same time, we're not biologists, so we would need a biologist to solve this question

Lol as a child, I had an addiction to carrots. I would eat 4-6 carrots a day 😋 I ended up with a very orange hue to my skin after a few months. But since I have darker skin it didn't show like an oompa loompa, my mom thought I looked cute and healthy. I stopped after the doctor said something and limited myself to 2-3 carrots per day

21:43 did you know that word „spruce” comes from Poland? It was becouse a Polish traders were selling wood logs in England And they were saying that wood comes from Prussia (drewno pochodzi z Prus) and english people heard word „z Prus” and they thought it is name of the wood So thats why it is called spruce now

When I tell the kids how the new word they're using is the result of misspelling or misunderstanding the word, they get upset. But when I hear that a word I use came from a few stupid Englishmen, you don't see me throwing a hissy fit.

15:03 Fun fact: Despite their giant size, whales cannot swallow humans. Their throat is too small for a human to fit through. Meaning, that the biblical story of the fish in Jonah's story was most likely theorized to be a great white shark.

the other way the proteolytic enzymes in your stomach don't digest your stomach lining is 2 of them are paired together. The HCl (stomach acid) is only secreted by the Chief cells in the stomach lining when you have food in your stomach and the HCl mainly breaks apart the Protein digesting molecules so they can digest the food. The bicarbonate is secreted by the small intestine as the digestion there depends on an alkaline environment.

the picture near the beginning referred to as cranberries, is actually red currants! lol The other half of the 6 sided basalt columns known as "The Giant's Causeway", in Ireland and Scotland, is to be found in Nova Scotia on Briar Island at the end of Digby Neck! and in New England Baptist Nursing School, we were taught to always talk carefully and well, to comatose and dying patients, presuming that they could hear AND understand you just fine and would be encouraged, entertained, and or informed, by what you said to them, or to others in the room or hallway!

The Diomedes Islands are also on either side of the international date line. So it's possible to travel to one and, by viewing the other, look into either the past or the future, depending on which island you are standing on. Of course, for the effect to work properly, if you were initially on the eastern island, you would have to circumnavigate the Earth to the western island. Otherwise, all you'd have done is crossed a two mile gap while remaining in the same day.

I only got about 20 minutes into the video before I had to go and buy myself an ambulance. I now can get anywhere I need to and actually be on time, and the fuel I save by not sitting at red lights makes up for the fact that Ive got the pedal to the metal for most of my commutes. I've found that the stretcher is actually pretty comfy to catch some zzz's in and showing back up to the ambulance without a patient only strengthens the illusion that I'm a paramedic.

19:34 Just the speed required to stay in space is like 7 kms, given that a car with a theoretical transmission could accelerate to that speed, since Cw=0 in space, you'd still need to accelerate 2520 seconds to reach that speed, taking almost as long as getting there in the first place. Also, a car moving vertically would take much more power from the engine then moving horizontally, so technically getting there at even 90 mph, would be a feat for most cars, lengthening that trip as well.
