You know , Micheal Jackson died on tour of a drug over dose and after more investigation they found out it was an injection by his doctor the record company had hired . Same with Elvis,... I grew up with Tom Petty as his career grew up , I absolutely loved them ! Always a huge fan and followed his music for decades . I saw them in MD at Merryweather Post Pavilion in 1985 , the same year I got married , on their Southern Accents tour . Tom later apologized for any perceived racism as he definitely was not a racist ! I still have a big piece of my T-shirt from that show and will eventually do something cool with it . R.I.P. my friend , you are so missed and forever will be . I am a Christian and I believe Tom is too so I hope to get to do a song or two with him when I get there . A fond memory is seeing Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers on the Long After Dark tour in ‘82 at Wm. & Mary Hall in Williamsburg, VA. Terrific show! Tom & band were at the top of their game & could do no wrong back then. Rest in peace, Tom Petty.

Tom thank you for being there for your fans. I taught until i couldnt walk because of back pain which im still in 15 years and many surgeries later. Its hard to explain pain line yours to people and it definitely hides other pains and problems. You are a pro that put your fans first. Petty was one of the best songwriters of my generation, and I've listened to him pretty much every day for the last 35 or so years. Never gets old.
