During the 70’s I worked for an airline and met Dino. Never in my life have I ever met anyone as devastatingly beautiful as Dino was. So sorry for his too soon passing.

I remember Dean Paul Martin Jr, from the pop band Dino, Desi and Billy. He was a handsome guy and featured in all the teen magazines of the mid-60s("16," Tiger Beat," "Teen Scene," etc.) He was also married to the beautiful Olivia Hussey and then to Olympic figure-skater Dorothy Hamil. I don't believe Dean Martin ever recovered from the tragic loss of his precious son. Both Dean and Dino are very much missed. May they rest in peace.

The loss of Dean Paul Martin is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life, even for those who seem destined for greatness.

Dean Martin was a good man. No doubt his son was no different. A patriot. My dad used to sing in night clubs to make extra money. He was hired to do a gig he used to get regularly. A convention type event. On one occasion a piano player failed to appear and to my dad’s surprise, Dean Martin stepped in to help. “ I heard this kid sing before, I’ll play for him.” He played for my dad’s gig. My dad’s 92, and always tells me that story and recounts how nice Dean was. It’s his favorite experience. A good man. I know his son was no different. He stepped up to defend our nation. God bless them both. His son brought pride to the USAF. Fly, Fight, Win-Go Air Force ✝️🇺🇸

He and I were the same age. He certainly was a hunk! Saddened to hear when he passed away in a plane crash. At least he died doing what he loved...and he was killed instantly without suffering.

I was stationed at March AFB 1987-1988. I was a Securiry Policeman and on duty the morning after Capt. Martin died. He took off from the base and turned North. The flight was normal, or so he thought. Apparently, he was inverted and didn't realize it. His proximity alert sounded, so he pulled up and increased power to climb over the San Bernardino man's. In doing this, he drove the F4 right into the side of the mtn. He and his weapons officer were killed instantly, and it is believed. The hanger had aircraft parts strewn all over, and there were also two body bags with incomplete remains. I was young and unfazed until I saw Dean Sr arrive. I was immediately saddened by the look in the old man's eyes. I was always a fan of Dino, and this event really stuck with me. Dino was never the same.

I was an enlisted Air Force Reserve C-5 aircrew member, as officer navigators were phased out one I knew transitioned to F-4 WSO, when I encountered him by chance In the Philippines and mentioned this mishap to him, he said it's no wonder, F-4s had bad radios, Capt Martin did not get the advice from Ontario ATC.

Dean Martin seemed to have really changed when his son died. In his manner, voice, and eyes; he looked lost. I'm sorry, but it was disturbing . . 'Not nearly as disturbing for him and the families of those two guys; I'm sure. Nevertheless . . it was almost as if Dean Martin had passed away long before he actually did. You just missed this crazy, fun, good-natured, talented singer and actor. I know he's resting in peace.

The F-4 crashed inverted in full burner. There was some speculation that there was instrument failure but nothing was proven. The only recognizable parts of the Phantom found were the tail cone and half of the tailhook......
