I enjoy Leerburg videos and refer many of them to my class members, but NOT this one. IMO there are some fundamental issues about timing of the marker (too late unless you were teaching duration), the marker word and hand movement being simultaneous (they shouldn't be), and position of delivery of the reward (consistently moving the dog out of the position being taught, in order to get the reward, is likely to create confusion and an unwanted pattern of behaviour). I realise I'm a 'nobody' in far-away Australia, but they are my thoughts.

Agreed. [and you're not a nobody living in far away Australia you're a Somebody! (who knows your dog training stuff!) living in an amazing country that I can only dream of visiting someday 😄]

As far as marking goes. You seem to be marking a total different behavior instead of the actual sit. You move your hand to give the dog the reward before you mark it or say yes. This movement of your hand makes the dog stand up first before you even say yes. Also at times you are giving a verbal cue and a physical movement at the same time. The physical will over ride the verbal. This video seems to contradict things that leerburg teaches.

Wow lol why on earth are you training them like this? You are making ”Yes” the release word. I suggest doing a little more research before making videos as you are sure to confuse a lot of newer trainers out there looking for help. Yes should be used in place of a clicker, not as a release word. When you say “sit” As soon as the dogs but touches the ground say “yes” then reward. if you say “yes” when they sit and then immediately make them move before rewarding with the treat you are teaching them that “yes” means it’s time to stop sitting. I’m also not sure you understand entirely what fading the lure is.
