Massive respect for Dileesh Pothan's confidence to express himself in Malayalam,the language he is comfortable in. His movies are so brilliant because he remains brutally honest to his roots. Instead of others translating,it wd be better if Filmcompanion adds subtitles to the Malayalam answers for a wider reach to his thoughts. This interview is truly emblematic of how language is no longer a barrier in this new paradigm for consuming content... it took staying at home and being in lockdown for audiences to expand their viewing beyond the languages they speak. It shouldn’t be such a big deal that someone chooses to express themselves in a language other than English... if a director can give his Oscar acceptance speech in Korean, another director can respond to questions in Malayalam, the language in which he made the film. Especially when the technology exists to make the content accessible to a large portion of the viewing audience.

Remember watching annayam rasoolum back in 2010, made me feel emotions tht i didnt know existed! I have so much respect and love for fahaad faasil!! Took hiatus, worked on his craft, came back and became one of the finest!!! Bollywood actors work on their muscles, dance and getting the best PR team whereas vijay, fahaad, nivin, dulqeer,sreenath basi, prithviraj,roshan,soubin shahir work on their crafts!! Incredible stuff!!

When Anupama asked to Dileesh does your village people proud and the way he answered put tears in my eyes. The authenticity and purity of this guy is connected heart to heart. To be able to be thus successful and be humble the way he is just beyond words out of this world.

Felt that this is a Modern version of old 80s Malayalam movie “Irragal” by KG George. There were lots of shades of the movie in terms of location, characters. N theme..How many agree with that???

Joji is a tribute for irakal...if you search for 'irakal' in Wikipedia it is written that '2021 Film joji is tribute to irakal movie'😊
@anuou7923 жыл бұрын
KG was legendary. Dont know why he is not celebrated as much as Padmarajan or Bharathan. I would say he outranks both of them considering the kind of movies he produced in 1980's. If am not wrong, in Irakal, Ganesh Kumar Baby's portrayal was top notch considering its his first movie.

finally these critics and few viwers have started noticing Malayalam movies , how high quality content and acting exists here..its been like this since the 80s ...!!! many tamil telugu kannada hindi movies have been remakes of malayalam but the viewers there dont know that...!!! however its sad that Fahad has to act with Allu Arjun who is a nursery kid in front of his acting prowess..also this question of when u going to bollywood feels like that its kinda promotion or the next big thing to achieve but it shud be exactly opposite..Malayalam industry is at the top point in terms of content and acting skills...Allu arjun must be proud to work along side Fahad..I dont uinderstand why malayalyam actors who are easily one of the greatest actors in India need to get validation from tamil and telugus !!!!! ex- mohanlal working with Vijay who doenst know a b c d of acting and that too in a unimportant role...!!!! But , money talks !!!
