this song is absolutely incredible. He's one of those artists that sound better live than a studio recording.

@@ewenvanni9309 if you’ve grown up in church and constantly doubted everything you’ve been taught (as I have) this song is far beyond “okay”. Especially this acoustic version!

@flourides He's singing better than he ever has in his career. It is a challenge to keep a top notch voice in tact every night on the road. In this video, he was on his fifth show in three days! I saw him two nights before this and it was the best musical performance that i have ever witnessed.

Regarding the facial expressions of the audience...prior to this song Bazan had just finished a lengthy explanation of where he stands with God and where he finds hope. The mood at this point in the show was somewhat weighty I suppose...and of course, the words to the song only reinforced the weight in that moment.

@fahrenheit128 The pedal with all the sliders is could be a Electro Harmonix POG, its an octave generator that creates these kinds of sounds.

@GhostofDavidBazan go to photosdotfahrenheit128dotcom and you can sort of see what he is using is one of my photos (not close up though). He is using a tiny vox amp, a volume pedal, and a couple other pedals, one of which had a ton of sliders on it.

@GordonWaltersBass15 жыл бұрын
thanks winterdollar & fahrenheit, he's using a eh pog2 & an ernie ball volume pedal, i just can't figure out what the third one is. it looks like it might be an ibanez, but i can't quite confirm it.
@andicustherobot13 жыл бұрын
@lunadivum it sounds like an electro harmonix POG, if it's a pedal with sliders on it, they have that cool octave effect. That, a volume pedal for the swells, and a reverb. That's what it sounds like anyhow

In their defense, it does feel a little weird knowing you're in the shot the ENTIRE time. They were probably both thinking about it the whole time, trying not to do anything stupid on camera. By the way, Casey, that was a pretty sweet egg drop. Hmm... Egg Drop... new band name?
