And it doesn’t help that I’ve been on that EXACT commuter ferry system probably close to 100 times. (It’s part of a large ferry system in Washington State in and around the Seattle area, the largest system of its kind in the U.S.) However, I’ve never witnessed something like this. Apparently, there was also an engine fire on one of those boats pretty recently, all because a single bolt was not tight enough and the engine came apart. (The engine had just been refurbished.) And a boat also recently approached the dock too fast because of high wind, breaking parts of the dock, it wasn’t even the first time that’d happened. They’ve also had a giant wave break through a window once. These things are not deadly at all, and reading up, it appears that both boats, “Nap Tyme,” and “Chetzemoka” (the ferry) weren’t damaged at all, which is hard to believe. Apparently. The captain of “Nap Tyme” was using the toilet at the time.
