Failed Xbox One Power Supply Fix (which fixed the front panel and kinect)

Nice job! I need to do something similar with my Xbox One power supply, except I'm going to replace ALL the capacitors. Console5 sells kits for that so I figure it'll just make the brick last longer.

Is it dangerous if I don’t take apart the power supply? The capacitor thing is worrisome

If a capacitor fails in the "open" state, meaning that electricity can no longer flow through it then its generally safe, as opposed to "short circuiting" which could lead to a fire, but would likely trip the fuse first. If the capacitor is bad there is a potential it will leak acidic fluid (ie boric acid) and cause damage to the circuit board. Fortunately the power supply is a replaceable part in it's entirety if replacing the capacitor itself is daunting.
