yea that secion you got to.. is super tough.. and there are tougher sections closer to the last pitch.. the notch blovck before the final pitch is totally mesed... id say bring a long sling. or a hand line for that notch ..

Good attempt, definitely a bit too much snow. You should be able to stay within a body length or two or the ridgeline the entire way, shouldn't have to drop low in that one spot. I've done it in the other direction, it really is a stunning route. Crumbly, exposed, grueling and thrilling. You start white knuckled but it's so long that by the end of the day you're just skipping along the top with 300m drops on either side, ho-hum. Don't try this route without real endurance, climbing skills and big balls.

A lot of respect to Kerry, Pat, and Dan for the "get out there and try it" mentality! To a flatlander, that traverse seems borderline insane to even attempt. Definitely must have been scary, especially going through crumbly rock and snow in running equipment. But, still turned out to be a very motivating video! You guys made it way farther than everyone sitting and watching at home - and looked to have a great time doing it - so perhaps it's a stretch to characterize this strictly as a black and white failure?

It was no doubt a quality adventure, even if the initial objective was not met. The combination of crumbling rock, precipitous drops and heavy snow with our trail running shoes was a little intimidating. Sometimes it is best to call it and simply enjoy the adventure you had - instead of mourning the one you planned. Dan and Pat are always game companions, too.

In our experience, we've noticed that many other content creators present their videos in similar ways (e.g., overproduced, purely as a challenge, showing off landscapes to a soundtrack, talking over a video after the fact, etc). The collegiality and present sense impressions of your videos, coupled with being long-form, are what set your videos apart for us.

LOL. Yes, that is NOT a great one to begin with - at least the territory between the two peaks. Up the first one would be a good one - even if the relentless jagged rock field was brutal.

Awesome! I felt your pain traversing those loose rock fields. I remember climbing on loose rock and deep snow straight up Pikes Peak when the trail was buried - tenuous- never again (until the next time) but nothing like what you guys did! Great video felt like I was there 👍

That rock is a scrapheap of the lowest order, and I climb a lot in the (often loose)Cascades.
