My take it was a mix of luck and skill. Alex did overlook the fact a hunter on foot could sneak up on him like that "assassin" style but as well deciding during a chase with a wanted level on top can be a bit distracting and lead to a mistake.

The hunters have been honing their skills for many years now. They have become so efficient at this game, it's almost unfair for Alex. I think it's time for some tweaking of the rules, maybe give Alex some more freedom, or restrict the number of seasoned hunters? Dunno, it's starting to get a bit 1 sided.

@@JS-wc4xs Alex does have so many advantages though. The first 15 or so survive the hunts the hunters could use a helicopter. Remember those days? I miss the pink pri ones. The escape the city, taskmaster, escort, and capture the car variants are great but I miss pink pris!

I Agree with some others, Failing you on task 10 was wrong. The understanding is that unless told otherwise, you do the tasks when you decide. If the task had read "Use only handbrake for the NEXT 2 minutes" that would have meant immediate.

thats boring though, the entire point is that he is put into awkward sitations that make it easier for the hunters since hes usually on the OP side of things. also from a viewing perspective watching Alex go at a snails pace pretending to be ai using handbrake to slowly take a few corners or at worst sitting at a traffic light for 2mins (which is pretty common) and never even having to brake, is just nowhere near as entertaining as watching him during a live chase trying to only use it.

7:59 The trash bins being interactable gave me an idea: Having to use items like this to leave behind some evidence of your presence might be really interesting. Let's for example say the task is to place a trash bin on the street. Even if the hunters don't see you actively doing the task, they can still find that trash bin and they'll know where you were.

Was a really great StH! Especially impressed with Impega's spotting. Also a task idea: Text a location to a hunter and meet up with them there. That hunter may not reveal any of this information to the other hunters or attack you, until they have returned to the docks carpark. Additional interesting add-on (requiring more technical hassle, which is why I've listed it as an add-on): when meeting up, the hunter becomes a VIP you must protect for the next 1-2 tasks. During which they join a Discord chat with you. If they die, you fail the task, but not the hunt.

The other spin on that is having the hunter be "kidnapped" - they can only text message in-game to tell other hunters where they are, they can't voice chat.

@@KidarWolf Interesting, but I fear that would be too powerful. Alex generally doesn't move too quickly after all. I think just have 2 characters in the same vehicle is enough of a penalty for Alex (for those who have not seen the livestreams: it's a pretty big givaway, as it's very rare for NPC vehicles to contain more than 1 character).

Man I had no idea how chaotic it is for someone to call a chase. Someone has sights and is calling it, yet there are still three people talking nonsense for no reason. It is probably harder for the hunters than it is the hunted. I think this was one of the best STH's, but now I understand how Alex lasted so long.

TIL. Though the logic of how that works is kind of bizarre. If you take a picture of someone in real life, your phone doesn't automatically message that person, nor would it know to whom to send to, so why is this even a thing in game?

As a society we have decided that tracking our location and activity that closely as to enable such thing is an illegal invasion of privacy. And if you live in a city, you'd get exhaustingly bombarded with those messages as people take photos of stuff that happen to be in your general direction.

​@@szr8 No need for face ID or anything like that. All it takes is an active database tracking every phone. Your phone says I'm here taking a picture in this direction, the database looks up whose phone is reporting to be near that location and direction and sends them a notification. Or over a bluetooth-like protocol, the phone broadcasts I'm doing a photo from here in this direction, other phones in range math it out and let their owners they're being photographed.

It would make sense for a task like take a pic of a hunter would exclude the blimp as that would make it too easy. I found this STH very enjoyable and suspenseful to watch so I can imagine it was more so being a participant. I always look forward to these. The ending was certainly bittersweet but it was a fair ending even if it was partially just dumb luck. Not to say there was no skill involved as without some skill, luck won't help much.

The hunters need to be guessing what the tasks are. They shouldn't be in the know. What I mean is they should know what they are before hand but not be told what they are when they are happening. They should be told "He is doing a task."

I am on the fence with that. Part of these tasks is to add to the suspense and make it tougher on Alex. If the hunters do not know what the task is it gives Alex way more of an advantage. With some of the tasks it would not draw any extra attention if the hunter were not informed.

The hunters only get a vague description of tasks that can be planned, such that many possibilities are open. Camping locations is forbidden anyway.

I was watching this video, and during the long getaway scene, I was thinking that the only thing that would have been cooler was if you were driving a derelict black and white 1974 Dodge Monaco (you know the one!) At 9:05 you didn't set off in time then moved very slowly up to the car which drew their attention, In future I would recommend turning the camera to judge the distance to the car ahead as you do sometimes leave quite a lot of space between yourself and the car ahead as an example 15:03 is one of these occasions. Although I would like to say it is understandable as you are looking for the hunters and in other videos you are also looking at a map showing the locations of the objective cars.

The 10 left turns things could work if it just means you have to make 10 lefts turns in a row BUT at a selected location of your choosing. Doing it in traffic can take too long and be boring but if a good location is chosen where you can avoid traffic and red lights it can add to the excitement and make it a little tougher on the hunters to spot.

Failrace crew, here's an idea. How about a survive the hunt free for all? Where everyone is a survivor/hunter and hunts the other survivors. You all start at a random property or apartment, steal a car and blend in, and when you think you've seen another survivor you try to kill them and they try to kill you. Everyone is pistols only. Goal is last man standing.

I was wondering about this during the STH: what’s the penalty for a failed task if any? There could be an alternative rule set in there somewhere with slightly more difficult tasks, strict enforcement and penalties, such that you can choose to forfeit a task at the risk of something funny to happen. 😊

Since the goal for Alex is to get a certain number of tasks done (12, i think?), the penalty for failing a task is that it'll take longer for him to reach his goal

Who's the chaser in the foreground of the audio with the posh effeminate voice? Is it Longbow? Audio levels need a little adjusting, coz their mic was way up but other chaser's audio was real low. I kept having to adjust my volume levels in my headphones whenever they spoke. It's a shame because the audio generally otherwise is phenomenal. (alex's mic is top-notch)

So, Dangerman told them where you were and then made the next task hold the e-brake for 2 minutes? Do you, by chance, owe him money or something? Ffs. It's not fun to watch if he's going to just tell them where to find you. When you snapped the photo he should have just given you the next task. Telling them where you were when you managed to take the picture stealthily is cheap. Making the next task holding the brake for 2 minutes immediately after giving away your location almost gives the appearance of your failure being the desired outcome.

I think it would be interesting if there were 2 huntees who are not on the same team. Their ultimate goal aside from surviving the hunters is to kill the other huntee before the hunters. Aside from this each of the huntees have tasks they need to undertake which will now be higher risk as they might unwittingly undertake a task Infront of the other huntee.

i think that the hunters should only be allowed one blimp and if the blimp is at any point blown up except by idiotic pilot error the hunters lose their eye in the sky but if the pilot crashes the blimp someone else can get their blimp and the hunter who crashed the blimp then becomes a ground vehicle
