As an ex-truck driver i have to say that speedbeast made things too difficult for himself by not positioning his car correctly. Also reversing two trailers is difficult cause now you need to take into account the fact that the normal trailer reversing rule of: "When your car turns left the trailer goes right" is reversed for the last trailer. Also reversing two trailers directly straight is very hard/Impossible, what you need to do is slalom a little bit when you reverse, that way you'll negate the effect of the middle trailer pushing the last trailer sideways.

I would've dropped the 2 trailers, backed up to the 3rd one, then re-attached the other 2 on the back.

I feel like a good strategy for getting all the trailers at once would’ve been: grab 2 trailers, go to the next one and disconnect, grab that one and connect to the chain, repeat till you have 6 trailers behind you

Probably two reasons - 1. They focused on making 2-trailer road trains, because they're manageable. 2. They focused on doing things as quickly as they could.

And 3, very good car choice. The diesel ute with a load in the back had perfect weight distribution for towing traction.

I may have over estimated the gap between the trees (on my end both rear sets of wheels fell off) and my ability to attach trailers. 😅

The trailers flailing as they were would've dragged it one way or the other, I think. Was definitely a lot of desync during that crash on Alex's end

I would love if Speedbeast could get another run but just limit himself to two trailers at a time, that set up looked good.

I think anyone going for more than one trailer should have ditched the two they were originally carrying, hitched no.3 and then hitch the other two to the back of no.3. Would have been way easier.

I'm surprised for those who tried to connect three trailers, no one tried this: disconnect from the train, grab the new trailer, and reattach to the train from the front. This way you never need to reverse with more than one trailer.

Another challenge idea would be a trailer obstacle course. Driver's choose their vehicle and then choose a trailer with load (the heavier the more points towards a win)

for the multiple connection train, couldn't you detach the trailers you have, hook up to the new one, then hook back up to the train, so that the newest one was closest to the vehicle each time rather than the furthest? that way at most you would only have to worry about maneuvering with one trailer at most or does detaching detach every connection in the train? (don't play beam so don't know)

Can we get a Stop the Beast, combined with Race the Flood? All the hunters have to do is not let the beast make it to the top. Be it by killing the beast or slowing it down enough for the water to drown it.

What you needed to do for the big chains is disconnect the chain so far, pick up the new trailer and add it to the FRONT of the trailer train, not the back!

A strategy not employed hook 2 trailers. Got to 3rd and drop the 2 connected and get 3rd then single back into trailers 1&2. Theoretically you could connect them all and alway just be backing to connect with 1 trailer.😂

I wonder if Alex's undoing was a result of his Stop the Trailer runs. Even one trailer got swinging wildly in it so I can understand his hesitancy to go for two. But, as he noted in those runs, the trailer didn't become an unwieldly mess until he got to around 70mph. Which is a very big ask for cars of this size to do while hauling weight.

Gliscor could have got it under 5 minutes if some of those trailers didn't wander out of the car park. Meanwhile, Shadow proved really crash happy in some places, but he was certainly faster than Alex. But kudos to Speedbeast - I would have thoroughly loved to see them get a 4-trailer road train on their run! Would have been an awesome way to lose with style. 🤣

I wonder if, for the skid pan sections, you want to go gentle with the throttle. Sure, in theory putting down more power will drag you out quicker, but you then spin your wheels like crazy as the power cannot be translated to the wet tarmac properly. Trying to find a balance that minimises wheel spin but still provides enough power to get out quickly. However, if you cannot find that point very easily and do not engage the throttle enough, you'd just sit there and maybe stall, knowing Beam.

22:22 what I used to do in other gaes to connect many trailers, is to just unhood the long bunch and just bump thee single one so the hitches would be close then get back and hook up the long ones and now you can attack the extra one...

You should make a game of this where two teams in an arena have to try to capture trailers and keep them on their own side while stealing trailers that the other team has captured. Whoever has the most trailers at the end of a timer wins!

You're daisy chaining from the wrong end, after the second trailer, you drop both and add a single at the front, then You're at 3, and just continue to drop the main load and just add the single for as many trailers as you need or want

The better way to connect 4+ at once is to do them in pairs, collect two, park them up, grab two more, connect them to the front of the first two , then you have 4

Y'all, there's a reason why semi trucks are RWD, not FWD. Not a great choice for this challenge, not sure why it'd even cross your mind.

It might have to do with the skid zones. The thinking may have been that FWD won't have to cover as much distance on the low traction terrain. Especially so for the shorter skid zone where the front wheels are basically back onto normal road to begin with.

@bolbyballinger that doesn't really matter, though, if you take longer to travel less distance, which is what happens with a FWD. You unload the front tires by accelerating, a problem exacerbated significantly by the trailer, meaning you just aren't getting the power down at all.
