Sousa allegedly wrote this after seeing a rather beautiful young lady. Whether that's true or not, it's still one of his best marches, which should be played more often. Thank-you!

I play this on Tenor Saxophone and I must say, this has been one of my favorite pieces I've played in middle school. My part is pretty fun as well, switching between melody and harmony throughout the song. This piece is so catchy and gets stuck in my head every time I play it in band. Some of Sousa's best work!

Great example of the heart that Sousa put into his best marches. That little theme in the middle is so sweet as it gallops along. What is it even doing in a march?
